California
According to Dr. J. K. Folmer I retired Professor Emeritus from California University of PA this panoramic photo of California, PA is from the early 1900s. The tipple at the far left is from the Vigilent Mine and the tipple on the right side is Vesta 4. The two "wharf boats" are an indication that Packet Boats were still on the river and by there location show that this was prior to the locks being installed that raised the river level. The photographer's name in lower left corner, H. R. Harris, was a local photographer who had a shop in California. |
