The Steamer CARBON is mentioned numerous times by JW in his journal.  The first mention is during September 1902 when JW writes about the CARBON being built with the machinery from the Steamer RESCUE.  On May 22, 1906 this boat has many repairs.  November 24, 1908 JW writes that the CARBON and CADET were built from the same template.   May 1918 has the CARBON back in commission after resting for four years.  JW notes on June 10, 1921 that the boat is owned by Wheeling Steel Corporation. The CARBON has numerous repairs listed during April 1922.  The final entry is on June 4, 1924 when the boat has general repairs to every part.  Please use the Search Function on the Home Page to locate additional entries.
