Winter 1936/37

December 5, 1936 Steamer R.J. Heslop burned yesterday  a very old boat and was formerly the Harry #2   I once rebuilt her.

February 1, 1937  Monday 1st  Temperature 28o  clear at 5 AM  fine and clear  cold wind  the afternoon part cloudy, the evening cloudy  I pruned grape vines today.  The new Steamer Crescent went up the first trip  Steele all around  formerly the Cruiser 1 which was built by the Pittsburgh Coal Company and under my direction I drafted her hull and she was the last all wood Boat built on the Monongahela River.

1  The items from the CRUISER that went over to this CRESCENT are the whistle and other equipment, according to Way's Steam Towboat Directory.
