In 1988 the John Nichols Family Society published a book to mark the bicentenary of the arrival of John Nichols on the First Fleet. The book is now out of print but reference copies are available at the National Library of Australia (Canberra), the State Library of New South Wales (Sydney) and the Society of Australian Genealogists (Sydney). Copies are also held by: Fellowship of First Fleeters; 1788-1820 Pioneer Association; genealogical societies in all Australian States; Newcastle Family History Society; Tamworth Family History Society; historical societies at Raymond Terrace, Uralla, Yamba, Maclean, Clarence River, Illawarra, and Berry; and public libraries at Sutherland, Hurstville, Parramatta and Blacktown.
The book includes 'The Story of John Nichols and Ann Pugh' and chapters on the lives of their twelve children, references and an index of names. Some corrections and additions have been published in the John Nichols Family Newsletter (ISSN 1444-612X).
