FOOTNOTES
Note that the name is also spelled Tabor. There are extreme discrepancies regarding the parentage of Philip Taber. For a lengthy review, see Ancestry of Philip Taber at Taber Research on this site.
There may be two Philip Tabers born about the same time in England. One Philip Taber is recorded as being born ~1605 and dying about 1672. The other is recorded as being born Sep. 1, 1604 and dying Dec. 11, 1669. Other researchers record his death in 1692. For a discussion, see Who is Philip Taber? at Taber Research on this site.
Date is selected based on age at death and recorded at Mayflower Families Through Five Generations: Francis Cooke; a number of researchers record the births of several of the children in 1646, possibly because they were all christened on the same date (Feb. 8, 1646)
Date of death is variously recorded as 1720 or 1730 but we have selected 1730 because his will is dated 1723 and proved 1732/3; see Scituate Genealogy and narrative for Thomas Taber.
Since this is the date of death of Lydia Masters' father, John Masters, it seems unlikely to have been her marriage date as well, although many researchers use this date based on the family history compiled by Poole (see Underlying Sources below) and it is not contradicted by the christening date of their first son. However, the only certainty is that Lydia Masters was married BEFORE her father's death on Dec. 21, 1639 when she is mentioned in his will as Lydia Tabor.
