Included
in my genealogy pages are my
husband's lines, there's not as much
information on them so I
have included my daughters
husbands family as well. I am
researching their names: Budden,
Cooper, Cowen, Duffield, Desjardins,
Leask, Gilmore, Glazer, Galloway,
Knight, Scott, Shreve, Brant,
Osborne, Shumard, Zammit, and others.
I
began researching my family history
in 1997 when I received a copy of my
Family Tree Charts from my mother.
She and my aunt, Helen Arlene Dawe {Tressam}
went to Newfoundland
in the 1970s to research their
Newfoundland roots. Her father
Stanley Dawe was born in Cupids, NF.
During their trip they were able
with the help of Shirley Flewitt
their first cousin gather
information on their family roots
from Port de Grave, Cupids and
Brigus. They also were able to
gather further information from many
other Newfoundland cities. In 2001
my mother Margaret Irene Dawe {Mays-Raynor}
passed away. In the estate she left
many charts, records, notes and
letters for researching our roots in
Newfoundland. I have since compiled
a list of up-to-date family history
and information you will see on the
genealogy pages. I am hopeful by
displaying an outline of what I've
managed to collect on these pages;
it will provide a new avenue for me
to reach others who may be working
on the same lines. I have set up
separate pages for some of my
surnames for the
following lines in my family:
Dawe
- Mays - Scott -
Morgan and
Lockery
families. Please take a moment to
look through the pages that interest
you. I would encourage you to come back often as my family pages are
constantly being up-dated and new information being added. I am dealing with
such a large database it is taking quite sometime to record all the
information that was left to me in the form of charts and graphs by my
mother, Margaret Irene Dawe (Mays-Raynor). If you feel we may be connected or
if our surnames match, please let me know. I'm
looking forward to hearing from you
as I
like to hear from fellow
researchers, you never know, we
may be related.
I have also
included pages for my family's Memorials
an Album
page
to preserve my family's ancestors
photos and
a Poems
page to share some of my favorite
poems. I have put favorite poems on
this page that were written in cards
that were sent to members of my
family. There are a variety of other
poems on this page as well that have
been taken from different sources
which might interest you. When you
have finished taking the tour of my
Genealogy pages take a moment and
read some of these poems. Hoping you
will enjoy them as much as I have
throughout the years. I'm glad
you're here, hope you find something
interesting and come back often.
Below are other links that are to
more information on my family lines,
a visit to any of them may prove
either interesting or informative.
To
discover more about me you will find
a short story below telling about my
background growing up in Ontario
and Quebec as a little girl.
My
name is Judith Arlene Scott [Mays-Bajkor}.
I was born to Harvie Harry Mays and
Margaret Irene Dawe on October
5, 1949 in East York Township,
Toronto, Ontario. I lived in Toronto
with my parents until aged 2. My
parents separated at that time and I
moved with my mother to Hamilton,
Ontario. My mother went back to work
and I was raised by my grandparents
Stanley Dawe and Cora Myrtle Lockery.
We lived in the family home until I
was 7 years of age. At that time my
mother was transferred with
Westinghouse to Trios Revere,
Quebec. We moved from the family
home of my grandparents in Hamilton
to start a new life in a province
that was predominantly French. I
learned the French language in
school and soon became accustomed to
the new culture and made friends. My
whole life was filled with a lot of
love and encouragement by both my
mother and my grandparents. This
lifestyle set the stage for my life
for many years to come that carried
me through not only my childhood but
through my teenage and adult years.
I would like to encourage you to
take the tour of my Family History
and see the genealogy pages that
interest you. You will also have the
opportunity to get to know further
history about not only myself but
also my ancestors that are listed
here. Hope you enjoy! Please come
back often.
I
would like to take a moment and
express my thanks and appreciation
to William Bill Coveduck my
cousin who created this web site. I
met Bill about a year ago after the
death of my beloved mother. At the
time I had expressed my desire of
having my own web site after viewing
his site online. He responded and
thus started our journey of getting
acquainted as we both found out we
were distant cousins through our
Morgan-Dawe-Scott connection.
Bill
at the time offered to help create
this site you are now about to view.
I am a new user since the Fall of 2001 of my computer and
have very limited knowledge of doing
such a task. I accepted and today
you see the finished product. The
dream I once had is now reality due
to the generosity of Bill to offer
his skills, knowledge and expertise
in Family Genealogy in creating a website for my Family Tree data to be
recorded on. He has done a
superb job.
I
am so very grateful for this site. I
would not have a site if it were not
for my cousin Bill. I
will always be grateful to Bill for
making my dream come true. It is a
great honor for me to use these web
pages proudly.
Thank
you Bill for this wonderful
Christmas gift you have given me. It
is so appreciated.
With
Thanks and appreciation,
Cousin
Judith
