Gregorian Calendar
The Gregorian Calendar did not come into effect in England until 1752. Prior to this, each calendar year extended beyond December through January and February to 24th March, and the New Year with it number increased by 1, began on the 25th March.
An Act of Parliment replaced the Julian Calendar by the Gregorian Calendar introduced in 1752 by Pope Gregory X111.
