Some Descendants of Hans Jacob Holzclau

Hans Jacob Holzclaw, one of the sons of Hans Henrich Holzclau of Siegen, Germany, was part of the organized group of iron workers brought from Germany in 1714 and settled at "Germanna" in present day Orange County, Virginia possibly for the purpose of mining ore and building an iron works. Hans Jacob was their schoolmaster and one of the first two of the group to be Naturalized - by Gov. Spotswood himself.
