Ruby Mae Woodring, age 93, of Wauseon, Ohio, died Friday, September 19, 2008, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon. Mrs. Woodring was a hard working farm wife and later went to work for Pilliod Cabinet Company in Swanton. She had also worked for the former Sheller-Globe Corp. in Wauseon.
She was born in Delta, Ohio on September 17, 1915 the daughter of the late William and the late Amanda (Leininger) Osterhout. On June 12, 1937 she married Clifford Woodring, and he preceded her in death on June 12, 1988. She was a member of the Fulton Union Church, near Delta. Ruby enjoyed crocheting, canning, and playing guitar.
Surviving are five children; Lee (Fae) Woodring, Wayne (Sue) Woodring, Karen (Chuck) Silveous, Sharon (Martin) Nagel, Sandi (Ken) Naves; 21 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine brothers Otto, Clifton, Ray, Delbert, LaVern, Morley, Rollie, Paul and Herbert Osterhout; four sisters Opal Layman, Bertha Kurfess, Arvada VanOrman, and Mable Thatcher; two grandchildren Chucky Silveous and Dawn Deb Silveous; and three great-grandchildren Ashley Silveous, Dalton Silveous, and Kasey Hardin.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 22, 2008 at Fulton Union Church, with Pastor Tom Bates, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fulton Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home in Wauseon on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Fulton Union Church, Fulton County Fair Foundation, or Fulton Manor.
