Why does AOL email make it so hard to copy and paste?
- AOL's e-mail is made to read e-mail as if it was a webpage. In other words, it turns all html code into it's active appearance. Link codes become active links. Once the code is rendered like this it is nearly impossible to copy and paste. (Use the 'log in' form above to obtain your customized html coding)
One of the most asked questions on the internet!
- How do I save graphics using AOL? When I download saved graphics from the web to my site I can see them but everyone else says they are all broken images.
For some unknown reason, by default AOL's browser compresses saved graphics in an .ART format. This format is not recognized by any other browser (or any graphics program). AOL users must turn off this compression to save .GIF or .JPEG images. To do this, go to the "Members" section on the AOL menu. Choose "Preferences" and select "WWW". Find the "Used Compressed Graphics" box and change to "Use Uncompressed".

AOL graphics (from another FAQ list)
When I was checking for the ring html fragment on a member in the queue, I did not see the graphic in Netscape but did in IE.
This is an AOL page so:
the member has to turn OFF graphics compression through AOL preferences:
- Go to MY AOL
- Click PREFERENCES
- Click WWW
- Click WEB GRAPHICS
- UNCHECK "Use compressed graphics."
After that, the member needs to go to your site and download the graphic again and upload it again.
