WALTER BLANTON 1926-1950 Killed In Car Wreck Funeral services were conducted Wednesday for Walter Blanton, 23, of Pal, Ohio, who was killed instantly in a car wreck on Highway 161 near Mechanicsburg, Ohio, about 6:00 p. m., Sunday, April 23, 1950. Services were held at the State Road Fork United Baptist Church by Rev. Cullie Sparks. The son of Edd and Mary Salyer Blanton, he was born in this county July 26, 1926. He had resided in Pal, Ohio, for the past several years where he was employed by the Farmers Exchange. Survivors include the following brothers and sisters: Hayes and Jessie Clinton Blanton, Falcon, Mrs. Clara Blair and Mrs. Esta Conley, Oil Springs, Mrs. Sarah Shepherd, Portsmouth, O., and Mrs. Pearlie McKellip Springfield, Ohio. Burial was in the Bill Rice cemetery under the direction of the Paintsville Funeral Home. Paintsville Herald Thursday 4-27-1950
