Abraham Gostick born in Stanton 1839 (m) Zilla E. Evans.  Abraham went to America in 1867 leaving his family with brother Isaac.  Abraham sent for family 3 years after arriving in America.  He established his shoe buisness in Madison, Gold Country, California.  Three years after his arrival in America he sent for his wife and 4 children namely: Joseph, Clara Elizabeth, Alice and George.  In America 4 more boys and a girl was born, these being: Arthur Henry, Charles Edward, Jesse David, Clarence Eric, and Ora Zilla Gostick.   Abraham Gostick died in 1885, but his wife Zilla outlived him 43 years, she passed away in 1928 at age 91.

 

Alan R. Gostick states that Abraham Gostick born 1839 England died in California in 1885 had brothers by the names of: JOSEPHGostick, born May 16,1846 Sleaford, Eng. who had children by the names of: George William, Abraham b.1870 Wilsford, died 1912 London,  Walter, Albert Edward b. Apr.28,1877 Sleaford, and Elsie who married a Mr. Rudkin. ISAAC Gostick b.Dec. 1844 Eng. who married Martha Adams and had children: Albert Isaac b. 1873 died Apr. 1943,(he had sons named Fred and Jack), Horace Henry Gostick, settled in Canada in 1910 (founded the Gostick Construction Co. In Canada).  JESSEGostick (living at Sleaford in 1953), had sons Reginald and one daughter.

Listed as: Funeral service for Horace "Harry" Gostick age 68 of 1830 West Thirty Third, Pioneer Vancouver Construction man. Interment was in Ocean View Burial Park 1953.

Mr. Gostick leaves his wife, one son "Kenneth", two daughters, Mrs. H.F. Thompson and Mrs. J.M. Kerr, all of Vancouver.
