Oct. 27, 1717 Thomas Gostwick sold 50 acres of Corbins Rest to Edmund BASTER. Rent rolls op.cit. Vol.2, 1684-1740 pg.368. (supplied by Kathy Schoen a Corbin desc)

Thomas SLIGH part of Corbins Rest which Edward said he had inhereted from
his father. (found in Robert W. Barns: Baltimore Co.Families 1659-1759)
Thomas Gostwick died in 1733 Baltimore Co. Md., and his widow Elizabeth Gostwick then married on Aug. 04,1737 John SERGANT who died March 09, 1748 leaving a will and naming children as: Samuel, Benjamin, Mary A. & Elizabeth, and John Y Gostwick and Ann Gostwick are listed as (bro-in-law and sister-in-law).
There has been so much written in the old records by past researchers, and so much of the information on the same persons read differently, so all this can be taken with a grain of salt, but is listed for those who would like to continue research on the Gostwicks of Baltimore Co. Md..
The descendants of John Y. Gostwick has never been found and they
may go by the surname of Gossett.
