MANNFORD WOMAN AMONG THREE PEOPLE KILLED ON STATE ROADS

Three people died Saturday and Monday in chrashes on Oklahoma roads, state troopers said.

Dead are Lisa Cochran, 33, of Mannford; Linda Lou Barnett, 61, of Alva; and Harold R. Gray, 66, of Newcastle.

Cochran was killed about 5:30 p.m. Saturday while riding in a van that was traveling west on Oklahoma 51 in Tulsa County.

The van, driven by Sharon Kay Wade, 53, of Mannford, veered into the eastbound lane, striking a car driven by Tracy Byard Coombes, 36, of Sand Springs, troopers said.

Cochran was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barnett's 2002 Toyota ran off a road west of Carrier in Garfield County and struck an embankment about 12:30 a.m. Monday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The car came to rest on its top in 5 to 6 feet of water in a nearby creek, troopers said.

Barnett was pronounced dead at the scene, the OHP reported.

She had been wearing a seat belt, troopers reported.

Gray was pronounced dead at the scene after his eastbound vehicle was struck head-on about 7:20 a.m. Monday on a Grady County road west of Byrd, troopers said.

The driver of the second car, 18-year-old Laura N. Rushing of Blanchard, and her 15 year-old passenger, Joshua T. Rushing, were admitted to a hospital in good condition, the OHP reported.

Gray was not wearing a seat belt, but the Rushings had been.
