Ruthie May Hines was born in Bristow on Sept. 27, 1942, to Elizabeth Harrison and Arvelle Hines. She lived there her entire life. Ms. Hines worked as a nurse's aid at the Rainbow Health Center. She loved to cook, sew, work puzzles and play with her granddaughter.
Ruthie was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Orvelle Hines and Fred Hines; and two sisters, Carrie LaCur and Eileen Roland. She is survived by one son, Leon Hines of Bristow; one daughter, Casey Hines of Bristow; three brothers, Richard Hines and James Hines, both of Bristow, and Milton Hines of Bakersfield, Calif.; one sister, Ella Reagan of Los Angeles, Calif., and one granddaughter, Justiss Hines.
Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005 at Hutchins-Maples Funeral Chapel in Bristow with Pastor Truett Johns officiating.
