Vincent "Vinnie" Pacheco

Our beloved Vincent "Vinnie" Pacheco departed this life on May 18, 2002 at the young age of 16. He was a student and attended the Christian Renewal Church where he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. Vinnie loved to hang out with his family and friends playing basketball and listening to music.

He has left this life to join his Grandpa John Lunsford and Uncles Rusty and Aaron.

Those left behind to mourn his passing include his mother Janet Lunsford of Sapulpa, brother Anthony and sisters Janet, April and Angell, all of the home. His cherished Grandma Monnie Low Lunsford of Sapulpa, favorite uncle Billy, of Pasedena, California and loving aunts Esther, Christine and Donna, all of Sapulpa.

Prayer service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. and Funeral Service on Friday at 11 a.m., both at Smith Funeral Home. Burial will be at South Heights Cemetery. Dinner will be served at the Sapulpa Indian Community Center after the service.

Vinnie, we love you and will miss you. You will be in our hearts forever.

Audrey Nicole Page, of Tulsa, died on Friday, July 4, 2003 in an auto accident.

She was born on April 21, 1993. She was a student.

She is survived by her mother, Anna Page, of Tulsa; father Brad Page, of Westville; sister Monica, of the home; grandparents Shirley Andrews, of Tulsa; Ronnie and Mary Kay Page, of Pryor, Sharon and Ron Wallace, of Oklahoma City; four cousins, two aunts, two uncles and a multitude of family who loved her dearly.

I can't forget to mention her dog, Cookie, and her cat, Catgirl.

I affectionately called Audrey, Sweetie Cutie, Cutie Sweetie. She will be missed by us all and we love her very much.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2003 at the Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Duffel officiating. Interment will be in South Heights Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Perrin Earl Palmer passed away Friday, April 23, 2004 at the age of 87. He was born to Ida Mae and Allen Earle Palmer in Otterville, Mo.

He married Beulah Irene Cole on Sept. 16, 1940.

He was preceded in death by wife Beulah Irene; infant daughter Nancy Mae Palmer; sister Thelma Louise; infant sister; parents Ida Mae and Allen Earle Palmer and one great-granddaughter, Ora Diane Nelson.

Perrin in survived by one brother, Charles E. Palmer, and wife Virginia, of Sedalia, Mo.; four sons, Perrin Gene Palmer and wife Karen, of Kellyville, Jerry Allen Palmer and wife Patricia, of Salome, Ariz., William Joseph Palmer and wife Corky and Ronald Dean Palmer and Wanda Mae, of Sapulpa; daughter Wanda Earlene Losey and husband Norman; niece Linda Kay Stone, of Sedalia, Mo.; nephew Michael E. Evelyn Lucille Parker

Evelyn Lucille Parker went to be with her Lord on Sunday, May 2, 2004 surrounded by loving members of her family at her residence in Kellyville.

Evelyn was born August 30, 1942 in Panama, Okla. to C. T. Stiffler and Maudie Bridgewater Stiffler. Evelyn graduated from Purcell High School in Purcell and married Andrew T. Parker May 20, 1961.

She enjoyed crocheting, collecting rocks, gardening and spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn was a member of Faith in Grace Church in Sapulpa.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her father C. T. Stiffler.

She is survived by her mother Maudie Ellen Stiffler, of Wayne; husband Andrew Truman Parker, of Kellyville; daughter Betty and husband Jim Morris, of Glenpool; sons Raymond and wife Stacy Parker, of Bartlesville, and Robert and wife Kelli Parker, of Kellyville; six granddaughters Diana Morris, Samantha Morris, Amanda Morris, Abigail Parker, Michelle Parker, Alexis Parker and one grandson Andrew Parker.

Evelyn is also survived by her sisters Shirley Rutledge, of Harrah, Lois Selman, of Wayne, and brother Albert Stiffler, of Springfield, Mo. and numerous relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2004 at Faith in Grace Church in Sapulpa with the Rev. Sue Learned, the Rev. Jack Lister and Sam Agee officiating.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Daniel C. Schaudt of Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service and Cremation Care.

DON C. PARNELL

Don C. Parnell, 87, passed away in his son's Las Vegas home Friday, Sept. 26, 2003. Don was born Sept. 5, 1916 in Elk City.

He moved to California during the Dust Bowl where he met and married La Burta (Burt) Shelton on Dec. 16, 1939. They had three children, Sharon, Larry and Rick. Don worked in the glass industry for many years, including 25 years with Gallo Glass Company in Modesto, Calif.

Since reitring in 1982, Don and Burt traveled extensively and made homes in Parker, Ariz., Bishop, Calif., Hemet, Calif., St. George, Utah, and Sapulpa.

Since Burt's death in 1995, Don has made his home in Las Vegas. His oldest son, Larry, also preceded him in death.

Survivors are his daughter, Sharon Abernathy, of Hawthorne, Calif.; son Rick Parnell, of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the home of Rick Parnell today.

Palm Mortuaries, Cemeteries and Crematories is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde T. Patrick

Clyde T. Patrick passed away Feb. 12, 2005 in Grove.

Clyde lived in Sapulpa for more than 80 years before moving to Grove in 1997.

He was born to Fred L. and Anna Patrick in Creek County May 12, 1915 and died in Grove Feb. 12, 2005.

He is survived by three sons Clyde Patrick Jr., of Ocala, Fla., Tom Patrick, of Laguna Niguel, Calif, and Fred Patrick, of Grove.

His wife of 56 years, Virginia Cook Patrick, passed away in Sapulpa in March 1997.

Clyde attended Sapulpa Public Schools for 12 years graduating in 1933.

He later received his bachelor's and law degrees from OU graduating in 1939. At OU, he served as president of the IFC, president of his fraternity Pi Kappa Alpha in 1938, and he was awarded the John J. Pershing Award as outstanding ROTC cadet at OU.

In Sapulpa, he served on the Sapulpa School Board 1964-69, as exalted ruler in Elks Sapulpa Lodge No. 1118, president of the Chamber of Commerce in 1950, Euchee District chairman for Boy Scouts in 1963-64 and he was awarded the Wood Badge by the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts for his many years of service in the 1950s and 1960s.

He was elected prosecuting attorney for Creek County and later was appointed by Gov. Dewey Bartlett to serve as a special district judge.

He spent more than 30 years of his career in the Creek County Courthouse. He retired as a judge in 1985. He was a member of the Oklahoma Bar for nearly 65 years.

The family was active in the First Presbyterian Church in Sapulpa, and Clyde served in the choir for many years.

A family graveside service in South Heights Cemetery is planned but a date has not been set at this time.

PAXTON -- Albert "Vernie" Lavern, 83, passed away Monday, February 3, 2003. Born and raised in Kiefer, OK on May 28, 1919 to Jim and Cora Hancock Paxton. On September 18, 1939, he married Margaret DePrater in Pawnee, OK. They soon made their home in San Diego, CA, where Vernie worked in a Consolidated Aircraft Factory. In 1941, he joined the Army Air Corps to serve his country during WW II. Later, he was employed by the telephone company as a Building Engineer, retiring after 37 years. He was the President of Optimist Club in San Dimas, CA, volunteer for the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department, and a member of the Rustlers Club in San Dimas. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Margaret DePrater Paxton, formerly of Broken Arrow and Kiefer; son, Albert Paxton and wife, Julie of Malibu, CA and Mark Paxton and wife, Maddie of Corona, CA; daughter, Peggy Mulvihill of Sapulpa, OK; sister, Alma M. ROBERT "BOB" PAYLOR

Robert "Bob" Paylor, 63, of Sapulpa, passed away at his home Monday, Dec. 8, 2003. He was born Feb. 14, 1940 in Sapulpa.

Bob was a retired welder and had been employed by Air Exchange of Sapulpa. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge #1118. Bob's parents and two sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Payne died Wednesday, March 19, 2003. He was born July 5, 1974 in Sapulpa and had lived here all of his life. He was a customer service representative for World Com; a member of the Salvation Army Church; and a 1992 graduate of Sapulpa High School.

He was preceded in death by his father, Brad Thomas Payne, on October 6, 1997.

He has served as pastor in churches in Oklahoma, Texas and Pennsylvania for 28 years. Bill returned to Oklahoma in 1981 where he taught in Grace Fellowship College and also acted as pastor at the Bristow Gospel Tabernacle.

She was born May 27, 1922, in Brush Hill, graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1940, retired from Sooner Federal Savings and Loan Co., moved to Tulsa from Sapulpa in 1966, was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Sapulpa and the Parent Child Psychology Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Pennington.

She is survived by sons and spouses Mike and Sandra Pennington, of Broken Arrow, George and Carol Pennington of Oklahoma City; grandchildren Steve, Robert, Pauo, Stacey and Jon; six great-grandchildren; five foster great-grandchildren; and her aunt Jessie Dallair, of the home.

ETTA FRANCES LEE-PERKINS

Etta Frances Lee-Perkins, 83, of Sapulpa, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003. Etta was born April 3, 1920 in Mt. Judea, Ark. to Robert and Rhoda Campbell.

In 1940 she married Robert "Red" Lee. Etta was happily married to Red for 37 years until his death in 1977. She married again in 1977 (1979) to Ernest A. Perkins and was happily married for eight years until Ernest died in 1987.

Etta was a member of the Church of God. She enjoyed working in her garden and canning the fruits of her labor, and a better cook could not be found. She also enjoyed feeding her animals. Etta was loved by all who knew her and will be missed by all her family and friends.

Survivors are two daughters, Sue Swarer and her husband, Gary, of Prue, and Glenda Wesley, of Tulsa; step children, Juanita Welsh, of Holdenville, Frances M. Perkins, of Sand Springs, Elmer Perkins and his wife, Naomi, of Beggs, Dorothy Meek, of Jenks, Lee Roy Perkins and his wife, Patsy, of Kiefer, Bart Perkins and his wife, Fonda, of Sapulpa, June Moore, of Sand Springs, Loretta Trowbridge, of Sapulpa; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Dicks, of Eufaula, Juanita Harding, of Kansas City, and Jane Smoyer, also of Kansas City.

Etta was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Rhoda Campbell; husbands, Robert "Red" Lee and Ernest A. Perkins; one daughter, Martha Louise Lee; one granddaughter, LaQueta Perkins; two grandsons, Michael Frazier and Derrick James Perkins, one brother, Velmer Burdie Campbell and one sister, Elgle Mae Hicks.

Services for Etta Frances Lee-Perkins will be Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Bixby Cemetery.

Walt "Owen" Perkins

Walt Perkins passed away on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa after a protracted bout with cancer.

Walt was born on May 12, 1934 in Pawnee, the seventh child of Grover and Goldie Perkins.

As a young man living in 1950s-era Sapulpa, Walt enjoyed performing in the emerging rock 'n' roll scene. In a band formed with friends, he sang at community events and locales and made a record at a Tulsa recording studio. Walt appreciated music all his life listening primarily to classic country and gospel as time passed.

Over the last two decades, Walt worked at the Spot-Free Carwash. He also attended Faith Tabernacle, where he loved singing old-time gospel standards such as "Great Speckled Bird." He looked forward to regular visits with friends at Steak n Eggs Restaurant, and was a well-known and welcome client to those with whom he did business about town. They enjoyed his friendly, jovial manner and his sincere consideration for them. Even as days waned, his nurses were engaged by his humor and positive outlook.

While most of his friends knew him as "Walt," his family always called him "Owen."

He is survived by his brother George, of Sapulpa; sisters Lorene Spearks, Mary Houston, both of Sapulpa, and Barbara Robertson, of Tulsa; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceding Walt in death were his parents; step-father Staten Laury; sisters, Ernestine Jackson, Normadene Perkins and Sue Ferguson; and brothers Amel and Hank Perkins.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2005 at Faith Tabernacle on North Heights in Sapulpa, with the Rev. H.G. "Jake" Evans officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Bob Charles, Randal Houston, Bill Robertson, Richard Beasley, Jerry Tiff, and Joe Jordan.

Carolyn Ann Phillips was born April 6, 1942 in Blackwell to Carl and Marie Johnson. She married Jim Phillips on Dec. 28, 1959 and they celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary before she passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 10, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Carolyn and Jim lived in Sapulpa for 12 years where all three of their children attended Sapulpa Schools before moving to Oklahoma City in 1982. She was a bright, artistic woman who graced family members with her beautiful cross stitch designs.

Carolyn was beloved and will be sorely missed by her parents Carl and Marie Johnson, of Tulsa; her brother and his wife Bill and Vicki Johnson, of Tulsa; her husband Jim Phillips, of Oklahoma City; her oldest son and his wife Dan and Kimberly Phillips, of Sapulpa, and their children Chelsea, Austen and Caleb; her son and his wife John and Stacy Phillips, of Oklahoma City, and their children Erin and Sarah; her daughter and her husband Laura and Laurent Massenat and their children Zachary, Thomas, Chloe and Theo. Carolyn was anxiously awaiting John and Stacy's third daughter Charlotte who sadly will never know her.

Carolyn lies in state at Smith Funeral Home in Sapulpa and will be buried at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005 in Memorial Gardens in Tulsa. A memorial reception will follow at Freddie's Steak House Banquet Hall, hosted by Shawn McKay, for family and friends.

ROY ORLAND PHILLIPS
(December 30, 1925 - October 10, 2004)

Roy Orland Phillips, 78, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004 at his residence in Bristow, Oklahoma. Mr. Phillips was born December 30, 1925 to Donald Phillips and Zella Stearns Phillips in Odessa, Minnesota.

In 1944, Mr. Phillips enlisted into the United States Army at Ft. Snelling in Minneapolis. He was a Tech 5 and upon departing the service he received the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, 2 overseas service bars, good conduct medal and Army of Occupation Medal Germany.

Mr. Phillips met and married the love of his life, June Carolyn Phillips on April 15, 1950 in Van Buren, Arkansas. Mr. Phillips was a truck driver and retired from McAdams Trucking Company. He resided in the Bristow, Oklahoma area for 46 years. Mr. Phillips belonged to VFW Post 3656. Mr. Phillips loved to fish, do yardwork, and attend his grandchildren's sporting events.

Mr. Phillips was preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Zella Phillips. He is survived by his wife, June Carolyn Phillips, Bristow, OK; 2 sons Bruce Phillips and his wife, Lynn, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Randy Phillips and his wife, Alisa, of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter Kathy Sue Sadler and her husband, Bob, Tulsa, Oklahoma, along with four grandchildren and one great grandchild.

A private family service will be held at a later date.

Maxine Pickering, of Sapulpa, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005 at the age of 83.

Maxine was born Dec. 13, 1921 in Sapulpa and had lived here all of her life. She was retired from Ranch Terrace Nursing Home, where she had been a med nurse.

She was a charter member of the Believer's Baptist Church, where she was recognized as a Church Mother in 2004.

Maxine was preceded in death by: her father and mother, Fred and Emma Smith Buff; three brothers, Cecil Buff, Olin Buff and Junior Buff; one sister, Wanda Anderson; son-in-law Marvin Petitt; two grandchildren, Rhonda Lynn Pickering and Vickie Lynn Hollar; and one great-grandchild, Christi Martin.

Survivors are: her children, Shirlee Hollar and her husband, Johnny, Butch Pickering and his wife, Linda, Randi Petitt, Sandy Arnold, Johnny Guy Pickering and his wife, Ann, and LInda Gibson; grandchildren Kathy Vickers and her husband, Gary, Delery Pickering and his wife, Robin, Kevin Pickering, Stacy Pickering, Angelisa Norris and her husband, David, Vicki Eberle and her husband, Larry, Richard Petitt, Christi Wall and her husband, Jim, Leanna and Dennis Playford, Brian Hoover, Anthony Arnold, Micah Pickering and Sharmen, Bonnie Knapp, Melissa Vernon and Shannon, Ashley Gibson, and Calvin Pickering and his wife, Teresa; great-grandchildren Ken, Greg, Daniel, Michelle, Carin, Sara Beth, Jimmy, Timothy, Kimberly, Wendy, Tabitha, Chris, Christina, Levi, Kortney, Trenten, Jessica, Mandy, Kalynn, Katy, April Travis, Corey, Amber, Josh, Zane, Derrington, Conner, Derrick, Lynzie, E.K., Brent and Ashley; great-great-grandchildren Peyten, Eden, Clera, Avery, Andrew, Braden, Emma, Dylan, Trista, Jaden, Braden and Camden; sister Babe Luper; special people Pat Pickering and Shirley Rawley; and companions Jody, Misti and Bubba.

Funeral services for Maxine have been set for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005 in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John Fixica and Archie Rivers officiating.

Interment will follow in the South Heights Cemetery under the direction of the Smith Funeral Home.

Serving as casketbearers will be Delery Pickering, Greg Gordon, Ken Gordon, Larry Eberle, Timothy Wall and Micah Pickering. Honorary bearers will be Johnny Hollar, Richard Petitt, Jim Wall, Chris Playford, Anthony Arnold, Gary Vickers, Kevin Pickering, Stacy Pickering and Daniel Vickers.

The family will headquarter at 406 S. Division. Visitation time will be Tuesday, Aug. 16 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, 1208 S. Main.

Rhonda Coleen Pickering

Rhonda Coleen Pickering, 50, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004 at her home in Sapulpa. She was born Oct. 15, 1953 at Claremore Indian Hospital to Sammy and Martha Fox.

She was preceded in death by her father Sammy Fox, brother Sammy Richard Fox and sister Tahlia June Seber.

Survivors are her husband James E. Pickering; son Eric "Busky" Pickering, of Glenpool; daughter Audra Pickering, of Sapulpa; mother Martha Squire and step-father Charlie Squire, of Coweta; granddaughters Megan and Courtney Simmers, of Glenpool; 11 brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

The wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at Little Cussetah Baptist Church in Sapulpa.

Funeral service is set for 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, 2004 and will also be held at Little Cussetah Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Holata officiating.

Interment will follow under the direction of Smith Funeral Home at South Heights Cemetery.
