BUDDY G. AND ROSA LEE WILSON

From "The Sapulpa Daily Herald," Sunday, June 11, 2006

The children of Buddy G. and Rosa Lee Wilson honored their parents' 50th wedding anniversary with a reception June 10, 2006 at First United Bank's banquet room.

Buddy and Rosa Lee were married June 15, 1956 at the home of LeRoy and Rosa Bell Simpson, parents of the bride. They have four children, Buddy A. Wilson, of Sapulpa, Donna McCallie, of Prattville, Terrie Straube, of Broken Arrow, and Bill Wilson, of Sapulpa.

Sapulpa has been "home" for 43 of their 50 years together. Buddy and Rosa Lee enjoy their family, tractor pulling and quilting.

Ivory and gold were the reception colors. The banquet room was decorated with lighted ficus trees, and each table had a centerpiece of 50th anniversary balloons held down by gold candy kisses. A two-tier 50th anniversary cake adorned the center of the main table accented on each side by a bouquet of fresh cut heirloom flowers. A cake decorated with the couple's wedding picture, punch, coffee and finger foods were enjoyed by all.

Memories were the focal point of the reception. Four picture collages representing 50 years of life, love, friends and family were displayed around the room. Buddy and Rosa Lee were presented signed quilt blocks that will be assembled around their wedding photo and a current photo for a lsting memory. Another special gift was a current picture of their four children.

Attendees included Buddy and Tanya Wilson, Donna McCallie and Randy Sampson, Terrie and Rick Straube, Bill and Christy Wilson, nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, and a host of relatives and friends.
