CECIL AND EMILY (POINTER) KIMBERLING

From "The Sapulpa Daily Herald," Sunday, January 15, 2006

Cecil and Emily Kimberling are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Emily Pointer married Cecil Kimberling on Jan. 12, 1956 in Seattle, Wash. while he was on leave from the Navy. After a brief honeymoon in California, he shipped out.

After he left the Navy, Cecil received his electronics engineering degree, and the couple moved from California to New York and a few places in between.

They had four children, and finally, in 1972, they returned to Oklahoma to be closer to family.

Emily has earned her degree in mathematics education and substitute teaches. Cecil has since retired. Together they are active volunteers for the Red Cross and go on mission trips with their church.

They spent their 50th anniversary at the Quartz Mountain resort with: their son Steve and his two daughters, Kyla and Treysa, of Tulsa; Elaine and her husband Paul and their children, Stephen and Becky, of Blackwell; Verne and his wife Karen and their daughters, Kori and Kami, of Fort Gibson; and Corbin and his wife Melissa and their daughters, Carsyn and Sutton, of Melissa, Texas.
