In celebration of their Golden Wedding anniversary, the children of Mr. and Mrs. Worley Varner will be hosts at a reception on April 26, from 2 to 4 p.m., at their home, 121 E. Davis.
Mr. and Mrs. Varner were married on April 17, 1929 in Sapulpa. Celebration of their 50th anniversary had to be postponed, with this being the date selected for the belated observance.
The couple has one son, Kenneth Varner of Salina, Kansas, and two daughters, Merla Spiller of Sapulpa and Doris Turner of Kellyville. They have six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Varner have lived their entire married life in the Sapulpa area. They attend Allen Free Will Baptist Church.
Varner was an employee of L. B. Jackson Drilling Company for more than 20 years and worked for Fred Klingensmith for seven years before retiring.
