Clyde Terrell of 510 E. C Street, is one of the few oldsters to be seen wearing a beard in our present day. He told me he was 79 years old on April 9th, and enjoys going to the post office every morning for the mail. Terrell is a typical "old timer."
Not a pioneer of Jenks, as I had expected when talking to him, he has been here only since 1947. Before moving to Jenks, he lived in Turley and worked for Spartan during the war. He has also had his farming days too, he said. He works on TV's as a hobby, or for pay, if asked.
His wife Clara, is an invalid so he does about all the work and running around. They have four daughters, Mrs. Bobby Simmons, Mrs. Emiline Jenkins, Mrs. Ethel Christian and Mrs. Rose Ann Gober, of Jenks, and two sons that live in Tulsa, A. Elemerll Terrell and John Terrell.
Everytime I would see Mr. Terrell, I wished I had my camera with me to get his picture, so this particular morning when I went to the post office, he parked his car by mine, and I did have my camera.
