CARGILL REUNIONS

The Cargill family reunion was held at the Oak Grove School Saturday, June 9, with much visiting, eating and taking pictures. There were approximately 75 attending.

They were Orion and Beulah Cargill, Oak Grove, their children and grandchildren (29 in number) were Larry and Judy Cargill, Michelle and Daniel, Lonnie and Ernestine Cargill, Steven, Amber and Chris, Mary Walker, Jaynelle, Shelly and Cheryl, all from Stroud; Bob and Nancy Moon and Mike, Mark, Lori, David, Julie and Lisa, Jenks; Linda and Bob Wilson and Tanya and Scott, Collinsville; Sharon and Danny Green and Crystal and Leigh, Jennings; Floyd and Jean Sorrels, their son and family Robert, Leslie, son and daughter, Altus; Sorrel's daughter and family Richard, Jean Ann Helgrson, Ben and Andy, Dallas, Texas; Bill and Opal, Perry, Bob and Francis Davis, C.W. The annual Cargill family reunion was held Saturday, June 14 at the Oak Grove School.

A covered dish dinner followed by visiting, reminiscing, taking pictures, trying to guess which kids belonged to who and lots of good eating and fellowship.

Those attending were: Bill and Chloe (Cargill) O'Kelly, Orion and Beulah Cargill, Pete and Lucille Cargill, Bill and Opal (Cargill) Perry, Jim and Fredda Cargill, Wes and JoAnn Cargill and daughter and Jerome and Thelma Cargill, all of Cushing. Also Mary (Cargill) Walker and Cheryl, Jaynelle, Shelley and Ronald Walker, Thelma Ford and Kitty Watson Lee from Stroud; Ben and Nevada Ellis from Bristow; Golan, Gertrude (Cargill) and Janice Winkler, Tulsa; Bob, Linda (Cargill), Tanya and Scott Wilson, Owasso; Bob, Nancy (Cargill) Moon, Mack, Lori, David, Julie and Lisa from Jenks; Ernestine, Amber and Chris Cargill, Charles Cargill, Larry, Judy and Daniel Cargill, Cushing; Richard and Michelle (Cargill) Plantz, Stroud; Neva Willard and Jerry Willard, Pawnee; Blake Perry and friend Siti Amri a foreign student from O.S.U., Stillwater; Justin Cargill, Jason Faires, Mike Lunduff, Leroy and Helen (Cargill) Linduff, Drumright.

Stopping by in the afternoon for a short visit were Otto O'Kelly, Cushing and Jimmy O'Kelly, El Paso, Texas.

The oldest person was Ben Ellis of Bristow age 94. The one with the most family present were Orion and Beulah Cargill, with 24 children and their families.

Traveling the longest distance would be Jimmy O'Kelly from El Paso, Texas.

We attended a family reunion Sunday following church at the home of Pete and Lucille Cargill. Plans were for a picnic outdoors, but the rain altered the plans somewhat. We had the picnic in the house and garage. The kids went ahead and made use of the swimming pool in between showers. Some of them turned a little blue or purple due to the coolness of the day. But ya know how it is when you're with all the cousins. If one proves tough enough to take the cold and enjoy it, you must do likewise and pretend it's great fun, even if you can't talk for chattering teeth and are a light purple in color. Some even fished in the rain that afternoon. The fishing and swimming didn't last long. But some are from the city and come a long way for this and just couldn't resist it.
