But to old timers in the vicinity of Pawnee, it may instead recall a community of that name, whose post office was established December 3, 1900, with Edward W. Williams appointed as postmaster. Its life was short as on October 3, 1903 it was discontinued, with Pawnee taking over as a mailing address.
