"MATHERLY REUNION HELD"

The annual Matherly/Spencer family reunion was held Sunday beginning at noon in Drumright's Way Park.

Everyone attending was pleased and proud of the improvements made in the park. They want to give thanks to Herman Upton and the Drumright city employees for their efforts.

Those attending from out of state were: Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Matherly, Dalton, Ark.

Attending from other cities in Oklahoma were: Mr. and Mrs. Ron Hayes and Brayden and Camilla Haynes, Oklahoma City; Mr. and Mrs. Garland Spencer and Heath and Gabrielle, Beggs; Mr. and Mrs. George Spencer and Ronnie Smith, Tulsa; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Garland and Kim and Lela Chambers, Sand Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Mort Potter, Pryor; Mr. and Mrs. Danny Matherly and Theresa, David, Laura and Kimberly, Bristow; Willis Spencer, Cleveland; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Juarez and Jennifer and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ash, Stroud; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Carroll, Muskogee; Rande Carroll, Stillwater.

Attending from the Drumright area were: Lillian Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Morris, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Rowell, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Ishmael, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Matherly, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Matherly, Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Smith, Julie Matherly, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Hoover, Ricky Matherly, Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Spencer and Chad, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Newport, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Whitehead, Edmond Spencer and Minnie Spencer.

The 1987 reunion will be held the first Sunday in June at the Drumright Community Center.

The Matherly-Spencer Family reunion was held last Sunday at the Community Center in Drumright. There was over 100 people therre. Both families came her in the early days around 1905. You will find 4 or 5 generations around here.

Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Newport went to Wichita, Kansas last sunday to attend a 45th wedding anniversary of her sister. Mrs. Newport is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Matherly.
