"NANCY 'GRANNY' CLARK CELEBRATES 99TH BIRTHDAY FEBRUARY 19TH"

From the "News Journal," Mannford, Oklahoma, February 24, 1988

Nancy Clark of Drumright celebrated her 99th Brithday on Friday, February 19th.

She was born in Mulberry, Arkansas where she grew up and married her husband, Warren. At the age of 21, Nancy, her husband and first child, came to Bixby, Ok. in 1909 by way of covered wagon. The reason for moving to Oklahoma was to find work.

It had been a hard year for work in Arkansas, so Nancy and her husband came to Bixby for work. They lived there for one year and moved back to Mulberry where they stayed till 1914 moving back to Bixby. They lived there for one year and in 1915 moved on to Jenks which is where she raised her family.

Her husband Warren worked for 28 years there for Gulf Oil until he retired. During this time, Warren was transferred to Kansas in the years of 39 to 45.

When they moved back to Oklahoma they lived in Sapulpa till 1959.

In the year of 1959 they moved to Drumright and purchased a home which is where Nancy Clark still lives today.

Nancy has seven children, four which are still living. She says she attributes her many years of living as having lived a clean and helpful life. She has worked hard all of her life and seen and been through a lot.

Nancy spent the day at home with several visitors calling and coming by to wish her a very 'Happy Birthday.' She also received many beautiful flowers from friends in Drumright and some out of town and state.

The day was concluded with a small get-together with relatives from Tulsa.

We all want to wish Nancy 'Granny' Clark a very Happy Birthday and want her to know she is truly a blessing to all who know her.

(Note: Sadly, Nancy Clark passed away March 14, 1988. Her obituary can be seen in the Lyle Ann Shults Obituaries Collection.)
