"50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATED"

Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Hildebrand of Mannford, held a surprise 50th wedding anniversary party for Mrs. Hildebrand's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fisher, on Saturday, March 16th.

Mrs. Flo Hildebrand recently underwent major surgery and her parents were here from Picher, Oklahoma, to take care of her during her recovery. Mrs. Hildebrand planned the surprise party as a "thank you" to her parents, and "friends took it from there", stated Mrs. Hildebrand, "they did all the work."

Mrs. Kenneth Fisher and the former Miss Marie Levell, were married in Picher, Oklahoma, on March 16, 1935, at the Union Parsonage. Miss Levell was 16 and Mr. Fisher was 17. The couple have always made their home in Picher, Oklahoma, and raised their three children there. Their oldest daughter, Mrs. Carol Strickland, of Cardin, Oklahoma. Mrs. Strickland did not attend the party due to expecting to be made a grandmother for the first time at any moment. Their son, Mr. Kenneth I. Fisher, of Dallas, Texas, and their youngest, Mrs. Flo Hildebrand of Mannford, in whose home the party was held.

The Fishers now have seven grandchildren, four boys and three girls, one great-granddaughter and another great-grandchild on the way.

Between 35 and 40 guests attended the party, including Mr. and Mrs. Claude Brown from as far away as Picher, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Hildebrand wished to express her sincere appreciation to the following persons for their help in organizing the affair. They are: Dr. and Mrs. Les Zalewski of Mannford; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Newman of Tulsa; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Taylor of Dewey; Mr. and Mrs. John Palmer of Stroud; Mrs. Marilyn Spraddlin and Mrs. Shirley Crane, both of Mannford; and Mrs. Opal McBroom of Mannford for the beautiful three tier wedding cake.
