Oscar and Vella Gatlin will be celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday, April 10, 1988, with an open house reception.
It will be held at their home west of Sand Springs between 2-4 p.m. Their daughters, Joyce Brown of Owasso, Debbie McFarlin of Edmond, and Gayla Ball of Colorado will be hosting the event.
Oscar Gatlin was born on October 29, 1928 in Terlton, Ok., Vella (Cargill) Gatlin was born October 28, 1928 in Shamrock, Ok. They were married on April 10, 1948 in Stillwater, Ok.
Their daughter, Joyce and her husband, Terry, have one son, Bryan, 14. Debbie and husband Jim have two children, Kevin, 16, and Kimberly, 13. Gayle and husband Donald have one daughter, Keri, 9.
The Gatlins have lived in the Sand Springs area for 35 years. They invite their friends and family to come and celebrate this occasion with them, but do request 'no gifts, please.'
