Sixty years of wedded life will be honored by the family of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Williams, Okemah. Mr. and Mrs. Williams are the parents of three Mannford residents.
All nine of their children plan an anniversary reception in their honor between 1-5 p.m. Saturday, March 7, in the American Legion building in Okemah.
Paul Williams and the former Violet Frances Cross were married in Bearden, OK March 7, 1926. Both have made their homes in Okfuskee and Seminole Counties since 1910. They have resided in Okemah since 1958.
Mr. Williams worked as a carpenter, farmer and oil field pumper to rear their large family who arrived during the Depression years. Their sacrifices during those years on their family's behalf will be honored during the family gathering and anniversary reception.
Mannford area children are Earl Williams, Bert Williams and Mary Coleman.
Other children are Donald Williams, Waldron, Ark., Francis Williams of Bristow, Doyle Williams of Okemah, Virginia Aragon of Grants, N.M., Anna Ruth Wesley of Cromwell and Kathy Ogg of Seminole. The Williams are grandparents to 34 persons and great-grandparents to 31 others. It is anticipated that most of these will be present at their reception.
