MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY

MEMORIAL PARK CEMETERY, Tulsa, Oklahoma, is located at 51st Street South and Memorial Drive. It is one of the largest cemeteries in the City of Tulsa and is a "perpetual care" cemetery. It is operated and maintained out of a trust fund led by a board of directors and is therefore insured a continually maintained existence. Over half of the cemetery consists of sections where upright headstones, benches, statuary and family-planted shrubs, etc. are allowed. The newer parts of the cemetery are designed to be less labor intensive for the grounds keepers and therefore only flat head stones are allowed in these areas. From monies out of the trust fund, many trees, fountains, garden areas, and other structural elements have been added to beautify even this newer part of the cemetery.

A chapel which seats approximately 150 persons is on site and very beautiful. It has a full pulpit area, an organ, stained glass windows, a private family room and is made of very old rock or stone. A bell tower greets visitors to the cemetery and a lake behind one of the mauseleums is home to many ducks, geese, and other waterfowl.

Because this is a very large cemetery, I am only attempting to list those buried in Section 49, the section where many of our family members await the Lord's return.
