Rentie Grove Historical Cemetery, established in 1904, is an historical community cemetery located in what was the Rentie Grove Community east of Jenks.
In this primarily Black community lived some of the sweetest, hardest-working people I ever knew. The Smiths, the Staffords, the Greens, and many others made this area their home, and attended Jenks Public Schools, where the children excelled in academics, sports, and music.
The Rentie Grove Historical Cemetery is now locked except by special request. The grounds are well kept and we observed many of the graves were beautifully decorated by obviously loving hands.
In the days ahead we hope to either obtain the official records of those resting here or, if not, we will do our own inventory. Unfortunately, our visual "walk through" will only be able to list those resting here that have markers.
We humbly request, if any of you have family resting in this cemetery who may not have a headstone, or if we have posted incorrect information, please contact this website owner so we can add, subtract, or correct anything needed!
