GEORGE DOUGLAS STRAIN, son of James Benjamin Henry Strain, son of Robert Fulton Strain, was born May 1, 1855 in Arkansas and died December 29, 1916 in Weatherford Texas. He is buried in Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
George Douglas Strain married Sarah Elizabeth Strawn, daughter of Stephen Strawn and Emmaline Allen, on September 6, 1885 in Arkansas.
Children of George Douglas Strain and Sarah Elizabeth Strawn are:
1. Minnie May Strain, born February 22, 1887 in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas; died unknown.
2. Emmaline "Dee" Strain, born January 1, 1889; died January 7, 1974 in Arlington, Texas. Buried in Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
3. Robert Henry Strain, Sr., born February 11, 1891; died about 1956 iin Lisbon Veterans Hospital in Dallas, Texas.
4. Lillian B. Strain, born July 20, 1893; died July 10, 1959 in Arlington, Texas. Buried in Oakland Cemetery in Weatherford, Texas.
5. James Louis Strain, born September 21, 1895 in Strawn, Texas; died December 30, 1979 in San Pablo, California. Buried in Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette, California.
6. George Halley "Hal" Strain, born September 9, 1903; died September 1972 in Arlington, Texas.

MRS. SARAH E. STRAIN PASSES AWAY AT HER HOME HERE SUNDAY
Mrs. Sarah E. Strain, age 70 years, died at the family home at 315 East Oak Street, Sunday afternoon at 12:15 o'clock following an illness of several months.
Mrs. Strain was born in Palo Pinto County near Strawn and most of her life had been spent in Palo Pinto and Parker Counties. For the past 28 years she had resided in Weatherford. Her husband died in 1916, and she is survived by six children, 3 sons and 3 daughters as follows: Mrs. B. G. Edwards, Miss Dee Strain, at home; Miss Lillian Strain, Ranger; R. H. Strain, Weatherford; J. L. Strain, Hobbs, New Mexico; and Hal Strain, Fort Worth. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. I. M. Edwards and one brother, L. P. Strawn, both of Strawn, Texas.
The funeral services were held from home at 3 o'clock Monday afternoon with Rev. David Rees-Jones, Pastor of Grace-First Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial took place in City Oakland Cemetery.
The following were pallbearers: W. W. McDaray, J. M. Davidson, Willard Sadler, Judge T. R. Erwin, S. B. Smith and Roy Coleman.
