HENRY MAXWELL "HENCE" PEGUES, son of Martha J. Strain, daughter of James Benjamin Henry Strain, son of Robert Fulton Strain, was born February 18, 1859, in Plano, Collin County, Texas and died February 1, 1911, in Midland, Texas.
Henry Maxwell "Hence" Pegues married Lula Graham on October 6, 1892, in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas. She was the daughter of William Graham and Martha meeks.
Children of Henry Maxwell "Hence" Pegues and Lula Graham are:
1. Martha Ola "Ola" Pegues, born September 4, 1893, in Midland, Texas; died March 26, 1974, in Richmond, California. Buried in Oakmont Cemetery, Lafayette, California.
2. Henry Harvey Pegues, born December 7, 1894, in Midland, Texas; died November 17, 1967, in Odessa, Texas. Buried in Odessa Cemetery.
3. Baby Girl Pegues, stillborn, born and died 1896 in Midland, Texas.
4. William Calvin "Calvin" Pegues, Sr. born March 27, 1900; died June 13, 1966 in San Diego, California.
5. Jesse Halley "Mike" Pegues, born January 0, 1902; died May 1978 in Jacksonville, Texas.
NOTES FOR LULA GRAHAM:
Mrs. Pegues died Sunday at her home in San Diego, California. She and her husband moved to Midland in 1892, and ranched in Ector County. Pegues died in 1911.
Dr. C. A. Johnson, retired Christian Church Minister, will officiate at the services. The Hubbard Funeral Home of Odessa is in charge of arrangements. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include three sons, Henry of Odessa, Calvin of San Diego, California, and Mike Pegues of Oakland, California; a daughter, Mrs. James L. Strain of Richmond, California; three sisters, Mrs. Maude Newham, Mrs. Mae Gann of Midland and Ola Perrin of Los Angeles, California; a brother Marion Graham of Strawn and several grandchildren.
