BEUSTRING -- Roland Jon, 88, passed away Friday, March 25, 2005, in Tulsa, OK. Born July 1, 1916 in St. Louis, MO to George and Ida Beustring. Owner of Tulsa Screw Products. In 1937, "R.J." won the Golden Gloves amateur boxing championship in the Welterweight Division with 10,000 people in attendance in St. Louis, MO. In WWII "Pappy" was his wartime handle on their B-17G Flying Fortress with the 8th Army Air Corps, Group 365 serving 23 combat missions over Germany. His top turret position provided many opportunities to defend his crew as most of the German Aircraft began their attack from out of the sun. Member of Southbrook Church of Christ. Preceded in death by: his parents; 2 brothers, Lester and Leonard; and 1 sister, Opal. Survived by: his wife, Flora (Strain) of the home; children, Glenn Beustring and wife, Diana, Carole Hazel and husband, Stanley, all of Tulsa, OK and Bob Beustring and wife Merrell of Colleyville, TX; 12 grandchildren, Kim, Becca, Glenn, Jessica, Lisa, Tina, Susan, Gary, Chris, Mike, Zachary and Michelle; 14 great-grandchildren, Sarah, Sam, Sydney, Elizabeth, Elliot, Jackson, Gracie, Madelyn, Annabelle, Kyle, Riley, Carson, Grant and Grayson; 2 nephews, Larry and David Beustring; and 1 niece, Bonnie Newton. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2005, at Moore's Southlawn. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Moore's Southlawn Chapel with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery. A Sapulpan since 1911 Mrs. Bessie B. Strain, 85, of 8 West Taft died Monday morning at Bartlett Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Frank Strain, who died in 1964.
Mrs. Strain was born Sept. 15, 1884 and was a member of First Baptist church and the Rebekah Lodge.
Her survivors are two sons, Marvin Strain, 817 S. Hickory; Joe B. Strain, Tulsa; three daughters, Mrs. Ruth Toney, 420 N. Elizabeth; Mrs. Pearl Collins, 407 N. Ridgeway; Mrs. Rachel Williams, Monterey Park, Calif. seven grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Basil Leach, Alilene, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Bertha Williams, Allen, Tex.
The Rev. J. Harold Bryan will conduct funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral chapel. He will be assisted by the Rev. Howard Allen. Interment will be in South Heights cemetery.
Renwood Cleaners will be closed during the funeral hour from 2 to 3 p.m. Tuesday. The family will headquarter at 8 West Taft.

Cora Strain Dies At 82; Rites Friday
Mrs. Cora Elizabeth Strain, 82, died Wednesday at Bartlett Memorial Hospital. She had been making her home at the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home for about one year.
Mrs. Strain was born January 22, 1890, in Missouri, and came to Sapulpa in 1918 from Missouri. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic church.
Survivors are one son, Jack Lacock, Gallatin, Tenn., and 4 grandchildren. Her husband, Walter A. Strain, preceded her in death in 1966.
Prayer services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Owen Funeral Home Chapel. Requeim Mass will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Friday morning with Fr. James Greiner officiating.
Pallbearers will be Claude Masters, Schley Sconiers, John Egan, Dee Ausmus, Jr., Francis Decker and Harry Ferguson.
Interment will be in South heights cemetery under the direction of Owen Funeral Home.

STRAIN -- Mary Dolores, 97, homemaker, died Wednesday, August 25, 2005 in The Woodlands, TX. Born April 20, 1908 in Choctaw, OK to Burdette and Ethel (Bodkin) Berton. Wife of the late Joseph R. Strain, former purchasing agent for Gulf-Warren Petroleum Company. Mary was one of the founding members of the St. Francis Auxiliary. Outside of taking care of the home and her family, her hobbies included playing Bridge, traveling, and spending time with her many friends. Survivors include daughter, Judy Mann and husband George; son Larry Strain and wife, Christine; grandchildren, Kelle Davis and husband, Tom, Mike Mann, Michelle Mann, Amy Rosales and husband, Ramon, great-grandchildren, Brandon Davis, Brett Davis, Bethany Davis, Belyn Davis, Nathan Mann, Bryan Bucheli, Nicholas Bucheli, and Logan Rosales. Visitation will be held 12-6 p.m. Sunday, August 28, 2005, at Ftizgerald Ivy Chapel with Funeral SErvice, 11 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2005 at the Chapel of Calvary Cemetery. Peter Strain, 60, former Sapulpan, died in an Okmulgee hospital yesterday. Funeral services will be conducted in the Ridgeway Baptist Church Friday at 2:30 p.m.
Burial will be in the South Heights cemetery under the direction of the Harrison Funeral Home.
Mr. Strain is survived by his wife, Lena, of the home south of Mounds, two sons, Peter F. and Willie, also of the home.
Three brothers, living in Sapulpa, Walter, Press and Frank; one brother, Earl, living in California, and two sisters, Mrs. Lydia Johnson, Sapulpa, and Mrs. Janie Wilson, Fayetteville, Ark.
Funeral services were conducted today at 2:30 p.m. in the North Ridgeway Baptist Church for Pete Strain, 60, former Sapulpan who died in Okmulgee Tuesday.
Rev. P. J. Conkwright, assisted by Rev. Deyo Jeter, presided at the services and burial was in the South Heights cemetery under the direction of the Harrison Funeral Home.

Robert Presley Strain, a Sapulpa resident since 1910, died at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in Bartlett Memorial Hospital. He had made his home with a niece, Mrs. Schley Sconiers, 1224 No. 9th.
Born March 14, 1880 in Washington County, Arkansas, Mr. Strain had been a worker in the oil fields in this area, and later was with the Frisco until his retirement 20 years ago because of failing health.
He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a past noble grand of the Sapulpa Odd Fellows Lodge.
Surviving are three brothers, Frank (Edward Franklin) and W. A. (Walter Andrew) Strain, both of Sapulpa; and E. A. (Earl Albert) Strain of Modesto, Calif. Several nieces and nephews live here.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Smith Funeral Chapel with Reverend Archie Rivers officiating. Interment will be in South Heights Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Leo Bruce, Ward Carpenter, Gordon Davis, Vern Huffman, Bob Watson and LeRoy Worley.

ROY STRAIN DIES; RITES ON MONDAY
Roy E. Strain, a Sapulpan for over 50 years, died Friday night in St. Francis Hospital. Strain, 63, resided at 719 S. Mounds. Strain was born Aug. 22, 1901 coming to Sapulpa in 1911. He was employed by Stuart Lumber Co.
Survivors include the widow, Mable, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Judy Carson, Mrs. Mary Lou Davis and Mrs. Sue Brumley, all of Tulsa; the father and step-mother, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Strain, 1030 E. McKinley; and a sister, Mrs. Lucille Roby, Tulsa.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Owen Funeral chapel, with Rev. Alvin Hedin, First Baptist church, officiating. Burial will be in South Heights cemetery.

Walter Andrew Strain, 92, 1030 E. McKinely, died at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Bartlett Memorial hospital. He had been ill six weeks.
A retired Frisco engineer, Strain came to Sapulpa in 1910 from Haskell, Tex. He was born Nov. 03, 1873, in Washington county, Arkansas. He retired in 1948 after 35 years with the Frisco railway. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers, and the Frisco Veterans Unit.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Cora E. Strain, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Lucille Roby, Tulsa; a step-son, Jack Lacock, Gallitin, Tenn. 15 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are pending with Owen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Lydia N. Johnson, 92, a Sapulpa resident for 50 years, died in Bartlett Memorial hospital at 7 a.m. Tuesday. She had been ill for two and one-half years.
Mrs. Johnson, who had been making her home with a daughter, Mrs. Schley Sconiers, 1224 No. 9th, came to Sapulpa from Plano, Tex.
Born September 28, 1870, in Washington County, Arkansas, she was the widow of Joseph H. Johnson, who died in 1906. She was a member of First Methodist Church.
Others surviving are four brothers, R. B. (P.) (Robert Presley) Strain, Frank Strain, and W. A. (Walter Andrew) Strain, all of Sapulpa; and E. A. (Earl Albert) Strain of Modesto, Calif.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in Smith Chapel, with Reverends Archie Rivers, Jr. and Grady Ross officiating.
