George C. Inman

Services for George C. Inman, 76, were 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27, at Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow. Pastor Bob Green officiated. Burial followed in Park Grove Cemetery in Broken Arrow under the direction of Hayhurst Funeral Home.

George C. Inman was born April 11, 1928 in Jenks, the son of Henry and Hester Bungenstock Inman. He died at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004.

Inman was a life long resident of the Tulsa area graduating from Jenks High School with the class of 1946. George attended Oklahoma State University for three years.

He was married to the former Peggy Neese on Oct. 30, 1949 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death in 1996. He married Sarah Mae Ward Slankard on May 17, 1997 in Eureka Springs, Ark.

George was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II and Korea. He received the Purple Heart.

He owned and operated Inman's restaurant at 32nd and Harvard in Tulsa, was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching football and cooking. He was a member of Arrow Heights Baptist Church in Broken Arrow and American Legion Post #308 in Tulsa.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Inman of the home; his daughter Delane and husband, James Alberty, Owasso; a son, Ty and wife Cindy Inman, Sapulpa; a step-daughter, Janice and husband Chuck Boyd of Broken Arrow, a step-son, Darrell and wife Tina Slankaard of Pensacola, FL.; a sister, Ina Rittenour of Tulsa; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by a son, Robin; a grandson, Chase; his first wife, Peggy; and brothers, Ray, Harold "Fuzz" and J.T. Inman.
