Cpl. Harold De Lano Jackson, of Catoosa, was killed in a motor vehicle accident while on maneuvers with the Marines at Camp Pendleton, California, July 31.
Cpl. Jackson lived in around Catoosa all his life until he moved with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Jackson, to Shawnee in September, 1957.
He entered the Marines on January 7, 1958, reporting for basic training to the Marine Base near San Diego, California. After basic training was completed, he was stationed at Twenty-Nine Palms Marine Base until his death.
Cpl. Jackson was married to Geraldine Troud of Tulsa, in a ceremony at the Assembly of God parsonage, 223 West Main, Jenks, November 24, 1958. He also attended the Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Jackson, Shawnee, three sisters: Jacque Louise, Shawnee, Gloria Butler and Gladys Dodson, both of Tulsa, and one brother, Jerry Jackson, who was discharged from the Marines on the same day of his brother's death.
Funeral services are pending with the Kennard Funeral Home of Broken Arrow. Interment will be in the Dick Duck cemetery at Catoosa.
BIXBY--Mable R. Jackson, 71, homemaker, died Friday. Visitation 1-5 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday and services 10 a.m. Tuesday, both at Bixby Funeral Service.
Roberta Jackson East, 78, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at a Tulsa health care center.
She was born Jan. 14, 1922, in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Herbert R. C. Jackson and Ethel Maude (Jamison) Jackson.
She married Howard East Oct. 3, 1939. The two were married 54 years until his death Nov. 18, 1993.
East received her bachelor's and master's degrees from East Central University in Ada. She and her husband made their home in Ada for 40 years prior to her moving to Jenks in 1993.
While in Ada, she was a life-time member of Camp Fire Girls and the First Christian Church.
She and her husband were avid golfers and were members of the Oak Hill Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her son Kenneth Paul East; and her sister Vivian Batten.
She is survived by her daughters: Jane Ellen Weingartner and husband Larry of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Susan Gail East of Houston, Texas; a son Robert Howard East and his wife Nalice of Jenks; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at First christian Church of Jenks, Okla., with the pastor Rev. Chuck Burns officiating.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons: Robert Christopher East, Kevin Paul East, Brandon Lee Weingartner and Austin Jamison East.
The family requested that memorials be made to the First Christian Church of Jenks, Okla., or the First Christian Church of Ada, Okla.
Ninde Garden Chapel handled the arrangements.

Word has just been received that Jack James, a former resident of Jenks died at his home in Illinois Wednesday.
He is survived by a sister in Oklahoma City and a brother in Tulsa.
Burial will be in Whitesboro, Oklahoma, Saturday morning after services at the First Baptist church there.

Maynard L. Jenkins, 63, retired farmer and a lay preacher at the Jenks Pentecostal church, died last Thursday after a heart attack at his home.
Jenkins was a native of Tennessee and had lived in this area about 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel, and four brothers, Audie of 3324 E. Seventh St. in Tulsa, Tommy of Stockton, Calif., Lloyd of Sand Springs and Paul, in the Army.

Daphine Mae Dooley Jett
Services for Daphine Mae Dooley Jett, 81, Sapulpa, were 10 a.m. Saturday, June 5, at the First Baptist Church in Jenks. Interment followed at 2 p.m. at the Wetumka Cemetery in Wetumka, Okla. Ninde Funeral Directors, Garden Chapel, directed the services.
Mrs. Jett was born May 1, 1923 in Virgil, Kan., the daughter of Jim and Gertrude Mae Fuller Newman. She died Wednesday, June 2, 2004 at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa.
She married Edward Neal Dooley on Feb. 23, 962 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1976. She then married Newell Thomas Jett on March 19, 1977, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1996.
She and her family owned the D and C Laundry for many years.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jenks where she was a member of the "Live Embers." She was also active in the Jenks Senior Citizens.
She is survived by her daughters Arthela Daphine Legg of Cromwell, Okla. and Julia Ann Ford and husband Robert of Yukon, Okla.; her sons, James Austin Dooley and wife Donna of Sapulpa; Tommy Neal Dooley and wife Anna of Claremore, Okla.; sisters Sally Wasson of Tulsa and Joy Ebert of Okmulgee; brothers Jack Newman of Jenks and James Newman of Weleetka; stepchildren Newell Jett, Jr. of Kimberling City, MO, Margel Pugh of Bartlesville, Okla., and Ron Jett of Joseph, Oregon; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Rob Ford, Jeremy Ford, Erin Dooley, Adam Dooley, Justin Cheatham, Drate Cathey, III, Roger Newman, Clint DeArmond, David Keith DeArmond, Kenneth Newman, James Newman , Jr. and Richard Newman.

NEWELL T. JETT
Funeral services for Newell T. Jett, of Sapulpa, were held at 10 a.m. Dec. 30, 1996, at Jenks First Baptist Church with Dr. Glenn Plum officiating.
Interment was in the Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Ninde Funeral Directors Jenks Chapel.
Mr. Jett, 80, died Dec. 27, 1996, at his home. He was born March 18, 1916, in Hunter, Ok. to George W. and Carrie Jett.
Survivors include his wife Daphine of the home; three daughters, Margel and her husband Byron Pugh of Bartlesville; Arthela Legg of Cromwell, and Julia Ann and her husband Robert Ford of Yukon; four sons, Newell T. Jr. and wife Martha Jett of Gladstone, Mo., Ron and Trudy Jett of Joseph, Ore., James and Donna Dooly of Mounds, and Tom Dooly of Jenks; one brother, Marion Jett of Cushing, 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandsons.
Mr. Jett retired in 1981 after 42 years with Sun Oil Co. He also was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corps. He was a long time member of the Jenks First Baptist Church.

".....Jewell died from injuries she suffered in a single-vehicle crash about 12:45 p.m. Friday in South Tulsa County.
Troopers said her north-bound 1995 Saturn traveled off the roadway and struck a bridge curb head-on on Harvard Avenue near 161st Street.
She had not been wearing a seat belt, the report said."

Services for Gertrude Lucille Johnson, 76, were Oct. 23, 2000, at the Bixby Cemetery Chapel.

Ms. Johnson was born Sept. 15, 1924, in Missouri to Andrew and Ella (Lady) Johnson.
She died Oct. 19, 2000, in Glenpool.
Ms. Johnson came to Oklahoma as a child and lived all of her life in the Jenks community. She was a housekeeper and nanny for over 40 years, primarily assisting the Parker and Cundiff families.
She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Leon Johnson; four sisters, Gladys ford, Wilma Ribonson, Mary Smith and Leota Jones, and four brothers, Freddie, Walter, John and Ed Johnson.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lenora Alma Conner Johnson, 76, died Saturday, September 25, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, at Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks, Okla., with pastor Rev. Bobby Reid officiating.
Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weleetka, Okla. Pallbearers were Leon Earp, Fred Becker, Arthur Miller, Leon Beckham, Harry Conway and Wayne Creekmore.
Mrs. Johnson was born on May 21, 1923, in Mountain View, Ark., the daughter of Amy Coyle and William Conner.
She married William C. (Bill) Johnson December 30, 1945, in Weleetka, Okla., and they moved to Jenks in 1973.
Mrs. Johnson was a wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was a member of Beaver Street Baptist Church in Jenks where she was involved in church work and was a member of the Lydia Sunday School class. She also was an artist.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, William C. (Bill) Johnson of the home; a daughter, Brenda B. Taylor and her husband Terry of Broken Arrow; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Amy and Milton Thompson, who resided in Weleetka.

JOHNSON -- Leslie Leroy, born October 2, 1954, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2004. The youngest child of Robert H. and Kathelene Johnson of Bixby, graduated from East Central in 1972. Fitter and welder by trade. Les formerly worked for Happy Company and Valmont of Tulsa. Among his hobbies, Les found an early fascination for guitars and became an accomplished musician, playing with friends and local bands over the years. Survived by 3 wonderful children, Jennifer Lynne Jordan and husband, Anthony and granddaughter, Krystallyn, Christi Johnson and Doug Myers and granddaughter, Angel and Wesley Johnson; brother, Alfred Johnson; sister Doris Hamm and husband, Kirby. As a little fellow Les came to know our Savior, Jesus Christ and the presence of our Lord at Calvary Baptist Church in Tulsa. A devoted father, Les leaves behind a number of nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held at Floral Haven on Thursday, October 14, at 12:30 p.m. Floral Haven, 252-2518.

Mrs. Johnson, 76, of Tulsa, died Thursday, Jan. 24, 2002. She was born Oct. 21, 1925 in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mrs. Johnson had lived in Tulsa since 1994 moving there from Bixby. She was a member of the Christ Presbyterian Church and had been a nurses aid. She worked for Community Care in Sapulpa and was a volunteer for Christ For Humanity.
She served on the Board of Directors for Benchmark Conforminiums. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, in 1990.
Survivors are four children, including a son, Walter Johnson of Sapulpa; 10 grandchilren; five great-grandchildren and two sisters.

Funeral services for Wilbur Jerome Johnson, 55, of Glenpool, were held Dec. 27, 2000 at Faith Freewill Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Rick Ketchum. Mr. Johnson was born June 12, 1945 at Wolf Pointe, Montana to Archie and Marjorie Johnson. He died Saturday, Dec. 23.
Mr. Johnson served in the United States Army.
He married Patsy Garrett on July 30, 1971.
He was the assistant sales manager at Inland Truck Parts.

JONES -- Elcira (Edith) Perea, 64, of Glenpool, OK joined our Lord on October 24, 2002. Edith was born in Senicero, CO in 1938, attended Adams State College in Alamosa, graduating from University of Colorado, then completed her Masters at Oklahoma State University. She was a dedicated Teacher for 35 years, retiring from Monte Cassino School in Tulsa, OK in 2000. She and her husband, Jim, enjoyed many years of riding motorcycles and was an active member of the GWRRA. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tulsa, and continued her religious dedication even during her illness. She enjoyed spending time with her 5 granddaughters and guiding them in their life. She will be missed dearly by one and all. Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her mother, Crestina Perea and sister, Aurora Perea. Mrs. Jones is survived by: her husband of 41 years, James A. JONES -- Glen W., 82, lifelong resident of Bixby, died at his home on August 30, 2002. He was born in Bixby on March 17, 1920 to William Andrew and Lula B. Jones. Known to locals as "Smokey," Glen had served the community as a Volunteer Fireman, including 6 years as Fire Chief. He had given over 30 years of service in the Bixby Post Office before retiring in 1972 as Postmaster. He was an active member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) where he served as local treasurer for 46 years. Some of his many hobbies included gardening, fishing and bowling. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 56 years, Lorraine on November 8, 1998; his parents and a sister, Inez Knight in 1998. He is survived by: a son, Lewis and his wife, Linda Jones of Broken Arrow; a grandson, Stacy Glen of Los Angeles, CA; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Gammon of Tulsa; 2 nephews, Don Gammon of Danville, CA and Ralph Jones of Perry, OK; 2 nieces, Jan Moore of Mannford, OK and Helen Moore of Denver, CO; and a host of friends. JONES -- Mable A., was born on August 4, 1941 in Bixby to Truman Oscar and Lorene (Ewing) Shepherd. She passed from this life on May 8, 2003 at her home in Bixby at the age of 61. Mable had lived in the Bixby community most of her life and was a beloved homemaker to her family. She married Bob Jones on June 15, 1958 in Coweta. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1996. George Marian Jordan
George Jordan, age 72, died on Monday, Sept. 13, 2004 at his home in Wagoner, Okla.
George was born to Clinton and Sadie (Wasson) Jordan on March 16, 1932 in Jenks, Okla. George grew up in Jenks and was a 1952 Jenks High School graduate. He served in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1956.
After leaving the Navy, George went to work for the City of Jenks Water Department. George was a hard worker and he devoted his life to helping others. George ran the chains for the Jenks Trojan football team for 23 years.
He was a member of the Jenks Lions Club and the Jenks Odd Fellows Club.
After he retired, George moved to Wagoner, Okla. where he made his home near Fort Gibson Lake in the Oil Capitol area North of Wagoner.
He was a member of the Mazie First Baptist Church and their SCAMPS "Still Climbing And Mighty Proud Seniors" group and he enjoyed traveling and working with others on the mission trips. George was active in the Wagoner community. He was a volunteer for the Wagoner Community Hospital Auxiliary, the Ft. Gibson Lake Association, the Heartland SHARES program and he was a charter member of the Wagoner County Senior Citizens.
He was the kind of man who was always ready to take that extra step to help others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Clarence, Cecil and Kenneth Hunter.
George is survived by his companion of 26 years, Ellen Potter, of the home; one step-son: Carl Potter and his wife Debbie of Tulsa; one brother Raymond Jordan of Turley, Okla.; two sisters: his twin, Norma West of Tulsa and Mildred Bassett of Jenks, Okla; grandchildren: Paul and Nona Potter, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2004 at the Mazie First Baptist Church with Reverends Jess Dinsmore and Richard Hedger officiating.
Interment followed in Broken Arrow at the Floral Haven Cemetery under the direction of Shipman Funeral Home and Crematory in Wagoner.
