G. B. Norman, well-known Jenks resident was accidentally killed last week when a loader he was operating flipped over decapitating him. He was a Tulsa country highway department employee and was working about 3 miles west of Tulsa on the South River Road when the accident occurred.
County Investigator Ray Bachus ruled Norman's death accidental.
W. V. (Bud) Caffey, district 2 commissioner, under whom Norman was employed, said the body was found about 11:30 a.m. by truck driver Walter Issacs who was working at the same place with Norman.
He said the truck driver returned to the place where Norman was using the loader after dumping a load of dirt which had been loaded into the truck by Norman about 10 minutes earlier.
The truck driver told Caffey the loader had turned completely over and landed on its wheels again and was about to roll down an embankment until a winch truck was hooked to it. Caffey said Norman's head apparently was cut off by a canopy above the machine.
He said the accident is the second fatal mishap which has occurred since he has been commissioner. He said the first was about 8 years ago.
Caffey said Norman suffered minor injuries in December when the same loader turned over while he was operating it.
Carffey said Norman moved to Tulsa from Jenks about 1 1/2 years ago. He said Norman had worked for a contractor in Spain on heavy equipment before going to work for the county.
Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Pearl Tarisho, Okmulgee, and a brother, S. W. Norman, Oklahoma City.
