• Corporal Benjamin Hale was born on March 14, 1727/28 in Boxford, Massachusetts.¹
• He was the son of Capt. Ambrose Hale and Joanna Dodge.^1,2
• He served in the French War, and was corporal in Capt. Samuel Haskell's company which marched from Harvard for Fort William Henry in 1757. A Benjamin Hale, probably this one, was also in the expedition to Crown Point, enlisted 7 Sept 1755 in Capt. Daniel Fletcher's Company, Col. Josiah Brown's regiment.³
• Benjamin married Mary Taylor, daughter of Israel Taylor and Rachel Wheeler, on October 6, 1757 in Harvard, Massachusetts.¹
  
• Benjamin died on September 20, 1771 in Harvard, Massachusetts, at age 43.¹
• His will was proved on October 5, 1771. Inventory was dated 5 Oct 1771.⁴

Hale of Cambridge, MA; William Langley and his wife Asineth, of Somerset, MA; Horace A. Sawyer and his wife Sarah. of Lynn, MA; Lovista L. Young, a single woman; George W. Hale and his wife Clara A., of Waterford; John R. Hale and wife Eleanor; George Kneeland and wife Susan, of Lincoln, ME; and William Langley II and wife Anna, of New York City.
  
  Charles sold this land for months later on 15 Dec 1860 to John B. Sanderson, yeoman, of Waterford.⁹
