Aaron Colby was born on April 15, 1792 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.²
He was the son of James Colby and Susannah Stewart.¹
September, 1814, Aaron Colby enlisted for the defense of Portsmouth, and was in service about three months.³
Aaron married Edith Rowell on December 25, 1817 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.⁴
They purchased the farm where John Benson lived in 1889. They lived there until 1838, when they sold to Bartholomew Stevens.³
In 1838, Aaron and Edith purchased the farm formerly owned by Richard Potter at Andover, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.³
The census of 1850 shows: Aaron Colby, 58, a farmer with $3,000 real estate; and Edith Colby, 56; listed with Sylvanius Colby
living at Andover, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.⁵
In 1867, Aaron and Edith sold their Andover home and bought the Hoag farm in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.³
The census of 1870 shows: Aaron Colby, 78, farmer, with $1700 real estate and $1325 personal estate; and Edith Colby, 74, keeping house; listed with Harrison Colby
living at Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.⁶
Aaron Colby died on January 18, 1877 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, at age 84 of gangrene.³
He and Edith Rowell were buried in Evans Cemetery, Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire.⁷

Abraham, with his youngest son, Jonathan, lived between the lots of sons John and Thomas, near the Elliot house.⁴

She was the daughter of Elijah Colby and Ruth Platts.¹
Achsah Colby married Joel Wheeler on March 30, 1794 in Dunbarton, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. They were married by Walter Harris, of the Dunbarton Congregational Church. Joel was a resident of Dunbarton, and Achsah, of Bow.³
Achsah died on July 30, 1807 in Bow, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, at age 31.⁴
