According to the first page of the publication, the meeting took place in the Bell County courthouse. As usual, the program consisted of readings of historical papers and biographical sketches “prepared for the occasion.” Presenters were W. H. ADDISON of Caldwell, H. E. BRADFORD of Belton, Mrs. Nanna Smithwick DONALDSON of Williamson County, Newton C. DUNCAN of Wheelock, Mrs. Eva Cockrell HUGHES of Belton, Mrs. Eugenia Haldeman OPENHEIMER of Austin, John F. SMITH of Galveston, George W. TYLER of Belton, and L. C. WILLIAMS of Beaumont. Although Dr. J. D. LAW, Mrs. Kate Alma ORGAN, and James P. REED had planned to read papers, they were “unavoidably absent.”
