     This week we continue with selected items found in the “Drug Store Happenings” section of the December 1928 (Volume 50, Number 1) issue of The Texas Druggist, the official periodical of the Texas Pharmaceutical Association, published in Forney, Texas. (Some punctuation may be added or deleted in the narrative for clarity. Surnames are capitalized for emphasis.)

     Page 43 – “The Palace Pharmacy of Alpine has been sold to Jones PENNINGTON, formerly of Fabens.

     A. M. GUFFEY has purchased the Pennington drug store at Fabens from Jones PENNINGTON.

     J. R. CONE recently sold his interest in the Llano Drug Company at Llano to Allen S. JOHNSON and D. R. KEYSER.

     J. Hardy BROWDER of the Anglin Drug Company has sold his interest in the drug store to Wilmer HAMILTON.

     A. D. LINLEY of Cross Plains has accepted a position as prescription clerk with Lon ALEXANDER of Childress.

     M. C. MOSS of Wichita Falls, registered pharmacist, has accepted a position at Webb Bros. drug store at Arlington.

     The L. O. Weston Drug Store at Shiro was recently sold to the Wilson Brothers (sic) of that city. The new firm is composed of J. E. WILSON, Jr., and F. H. WILSON.

     Mrs. M. P. TINSLEY, who has had an interest in the Hotel Drug Store at Mineral Wells for some time, recently bought the interest of Mrs. Josephine SLATON and her son.”

     Page 44 – “J. N. HOBSON has purchased the Blum Drug Company from Foster-Fain.

     Scott KING of Lometa has accepted a position with the Trigg Drug Store of Brady.

     Lawrence E. DAVIS has purchased the interest of Joe BARNHART in the Corner Drug Store in Shamrock.

     D. P. WARD, Jr., of Amarillo has purchased an interest in the Austin Drug Store No. 2, located in the Rule Building.

     A. R. CECIL of Mt. Pleasant, Tenn., has accepted a position with the Crosthwaite Drug Company of Colorado as pharmacist.

     Carle HEBERLE, registered pharmacist of San Antonio, arrived in Cuero recently to accept a position in the L. L. Buttery Drug Store, where he will be in charge of the prescription department.

     L. S. GARZA has opened a new drug store at Mercedes on North Texas Avenue. The new store will be known as the ‘Farmacia Garza’ and will carry a complete line of drugs and drug store sundries. He is a member of the Valley Retail Druggists Association and the Texas Pharmaceutical Association and is a registered pharmacist.

     The Kirtley Drug Store at Aransas Pass, which located in the new Sigmund building, held its formal opening to the public, September 22. The store is owned by O. E. KIRTLEY of Taft.

     T. B. WAITE has opened a modern drug store at Mission...E. D. DUNLAP is in charge of the prescription department; Bruno SIPES is manager.

     H. S. FORMAN, president of the Official Drug Stores, recently left Dallas [and] visited points in the North and East in the interest of the Official Stores.”
