     This week we conclude the list of the names of members of the Royal Arch Masons chapter in Georgetown, Texas, for the years 1878-1879. The data can be found on page 104 of TRANSACTIONS OF THE M. E. GRAND ROYAL ARCH CHAPTER OF TEXAS AT ITS THIRTIETH ANNUAL CONVOCATION HELD AT THE MASONIC TEMPLE, IN THE CITY OF HOUSTON, ON THURSDAY, THE ELEVENTH DAY OF DECEMBER, A. D. 1879, A. I. 2409, AT THREE O’CLOCK P. M., which was published in Houston by W. H. Coyle, Printer and Lithographer, in 1880. (In the title, the M and E are each followed by three dots, representing the Triple Tau emblem of the organization. However, for simplicity, a period is used in this column.)

     Here are some selected items found in the “Society” column of the 22 November 1939 issue of the Shelby County newspaper, Center Daily News, published in Center, Texas. (Surnames are capitalized for emphasis. Some punctuation may be changed for clarity.)

     “Mr. and Mrs. R. W. ASHBY motored to Henderson this afternoon to bring home their little daughter, Gay Nell, who has been spending the week with her grandparents.

     O. R. SMITH of Shreveport was the guest today of his sister, MRS. Van J. SMITH.

     Mrs. R. W. ASHBY entertained with two tables of bridge, Tuesday afternoon, complimenting Miss Gladys BROWN of Henderson, who is the house guest of Mrs. Ford CARNAHAN. High score was won by Mrs. D. E. WHITE and the honoree was given a dainty guest prize.

     Mr. and Mrs. O. C. ROGERS, accompanied by Mrs. C. O. BRYAN, Mrs. Alice KING, and little Peggy POWELL, visited in Overton and Gladewater, Tuesday.

     Mrs. R. H. SMITH of Tenaha spent several days this week in the home of her son, Van J. SMITH.

     Mr. and Mrs. Geo. SAUNDERS left today for Shreveport, where they will spend several days with their daughter, Mrs. C. E. FERGUSON.

     Mr. and Mrs. Levy WINDHAM, Mr. F. H. HALEY, and Rev. Joe SMITH attended the funeral of Mrs. John HARRIS at the Sample cemetery, Wednesday.”
