The fifth annual Foundations of Pointe Coupée Community Series Forum, hosted by Creole West Productions, is scheduled for 19 October 2013 from 10:00 a. m. to 3:00 p. m. at the Julien Poydras Museum & Arts Center in New Roads, Louisiana. Using the theme, “Tracing Pointe Coupée’s Creole Foundations from Nouvelle France: 1608 to 1740s,” the forum will explore the remarkable journey of the area’s early families who descend from some of the oldest settlers of North America, including such places as Quebec, Montreal, the Illinois country, and New Orleans.
Admission to the event will be $25, which includes a light Creole lunch and entertainment. To assure seating, advance registration may be made online at www.pointecoupeehistory.com.
