OBITUARY. William L. Kneen

William L. Kneen was born in Kempton, Illinois on September 20, 1870 and died at Hartley, Iowa on Sunday, August 6. If he had lived until September 20, he would have been 80 years old.

As a eleven year old boy, he came to Hartley in 1881. He lived here until he was about 21 years old. Then he went to Mound, S. D.

He married Miss Edna Gosling. In 1896, a son was born to them. This son died when he was a young married man.

Mr. William Kneen returned to Hartley, later lived at Ocheyedan for a few years, then again came back here and farmed on a farm near town. He also lived in Hartley for a number of years. During recent years, he spent a part of each winter in Los Angeles with his daughter-in-law and grandson.

The immediate surviving relatives are his daughter-in-law, Helen C. Kneen, his grandson, Bob Kneen both of Los Angeles, California and a neice, Elsie Robinson of Galva, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Methodist Church in charge of the pastor, the Rev. Raymonda A. Roloff. Mrs Harrison Pike played appropriate organ music and Florence Fahlenkamp sang, "Lead Kindly Light" and "The Lord's Prayer".

Interment was made in the Hartley cemetery.
