A special musical program has been arranged for “Chu Chow Chin,” including “Sand Dunes,” by George Stanley; “Show a Little Something New,” by Vera Knight; “I Was a Very Good Baby,” by Gwendolyn Evans; “It's a Typical Tipperary Over Here,” by Della Martell; “Waiting,” by Gwendolyn Evans and Vera Knight; “I Want To Be the Leader of the Band,” Millie Pedro; and a specialty by the Lee Twins. “Chu Chow Chin,” also serves as a new introduction for Betty Lee, a popular singer, at the Columbia, who has returned after a brief vacation and who will signalize her return by singing Art Hickman's new song hit. “Margie.”

Girls' Vocal Trio Takes Laurels In New States Bill
The Three K's, comprising three damsels of the Pepper Box Revue, Oro Knight, Vera Knight and Gay Kennedy, captured the laurels in the last night's production of “The New Cook” at the States theater. A real harmonious blending of voices, a trio that could grace any big time vaudeville program responding to repeated encores. “The New Cook” sets even a faster tempo than the initial attraction. Ten son and dance numbers are featured. Eunice Richards with the group of girls makes “Alice Blue Gown” as welcome a song as it was in the original production of “Irene”. Lee Hester and the Pepper Box Girls sang “Shultz Is Back Again” in novel Dutch attire. A rousing finale is the ensemble singing of “The Land of Yama Yama.” Willis West comes into his own as a comedian in his characterization of the cook and he is splendidly supported by Charles McNaughton, Eunice Richards, Roy Collins, Elise Nichols, John Dobson and Vivian Moore. The scenic settings are a delight to the eye and the lighting is effectively handled.

New Version Of Kipling Offered States Patrons
Kipling's famous dissertation on the vampire received a new interpretation at the States theater last night - also a new meaning. The exponents of the latest version of the Kiplingese exhortation were Messrs. Charles McNaughton, Willis West and John Dobson. Further than that we have nothing to add. See the burlesque and get a few chuckles. No this States theater bill the latter half of the week is quite novel. Many musical numbers, a lot of hokum and yards and yards of jokes, old and new, but all of them good for a laugh or two or three. And since we go to the theatre mainly to laugh, and not to weep, we respectfully doff our sombrero to the said bill. In addition to the Kipling episode aforesaid, Oro Knight, Vera Knight and Gay Kennedy captured the audience I a song number called “I Ain't Got Nobody Much.” Charles McNaughton stopped the show with “Why Do You Sit on Your Patio,” and then the finale, in the nature of a popularity contest or something, made a hit. It was a case of the house divided  against itself, or something like that, as McNaughton appealed to one section for applause and West sought approval from the other. The musical numbers were “Wooden Soldiers on Parade,” Pepper Box Revue girls; “Tin Pan Parade,” Less Hester; “Some of These Days,” Vivian Moore;  “On the Shores of Honolulu,” Gay Kennedy and girls; “Sandman Save A Dream for Me.” Lee Hester; “All Because of You,” Oro Knight' “It's a Million to One You're in Love,” Roy Collins and girls; “One Alone,” Eunice Richards; “I've Been Looking For a Boy Like You,” Elize Nichols and girls; “Aloha means I Love You,” Jessie Reed; “Ain't Got Nobody Much,” Oro Knight, Vera Knight and Kay Kennedy; “Why Do You Sit on Your Patio,” Charles McNaughton; “I've Been A Good Pal To You.” Roy Collins and girls.
