James B. Hogel died at the home of his son, Ed Hogel, Friday, April 7, 1911, aged 91 years, 1 month and 18 days. Funeral services were conducted by Mrs. Jennie B. Lile, assisted by H.L. McBride of Stillwater, at the Pleasant Hill school house.
The decedent was born in Franklin county, New York, and was at the time of his death the oldest member of the Masonic order in Payne county, if not in Oklahoma. He was a devoted member of the Christian Adventist sect. He leaves a son and daughter and many grandchildren and friends.
