Carol Conway, 76, Stillwater, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at her home. Wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Strode Chapel. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Father Bob Schlitt will officiate. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Conway was born Aug. 6, 1925, to Orville and Ida (Madison) Swisher in Noble County. She married Douglas K. Penix Aug. 10, 1941, in Cushing. Following his death in Dec. 1972, she married Hubert Conway July 21, 1973, in Stillwater. She was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Alter Society and chairperson of Love Feast.
Conway is predeceased by her parents, husband, four brothers, four sisters and one grandchild. She is survived by one son, Jay and his wife Jeri Penix of Fairview, Kan.; three daughters, Sandy and her husband Ed Slovak of Stillwater, Carol and her husband Jim Wallace of Albuquerque, N.M., and Gail and her husband Larry Jelinek of Yukon; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ron Swisher and his wife Kay of Tulsa and Dwight Swisher and his wife Kim of Stillwater; four sisters, Barbara White of Stillwater, Clara Langley and her husband James of Ponca City, Wanda Mertz of Mills, Wyo., and Sally Brown and her husband Paul of Garland, Texas; and two special friends, Peggy Henderson of Moline, Kan. and Wanda Lemons of Stillwater.

Clarence Eugene Swisher, 37, Killed in Crash: Rites Here.
Clarence Eugene Swisher, 37-year old Fort Smith, Ark., man and native of Stillwater was killed in an automobile accident Thursday April 30, 1970 near Alma, Ark. A car Swisher was in apparently went out of control on Interstate 40 and landed in a creek upside down. A passenger in the car was also killed. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Strode Funeral Chapel with Rev. L.E. Whitley as pastor in charge. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Strode. Flag presentation will be at the grave by members of the Hanner-Sharp American Legion Post 129.
He was born Dec. 9, 1932, in Stillwater and hisi parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.J. Swisher, reside at 324 S. Burdick. He was a veteran of the Korean War. He married Alice Earlene Wecker, Aug. 11, 1952, in Big Springs, Tex. Swisher had worked in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas with oil drilling departments. He had been with Unit Drilling Co. of Tulsa for the past seven years.
He is survived by his parents, his widow, two sons, Ronald Eugene and Orville Earl, two daughters, Gwenda Kay and Dovie Ann, all of the home in Ft. Smith. Also surviving are four brothers, Leonard Gardner, Sapulpa; J.D. Swisher, Grand Junction, Colo., Ronald Swisher, U.S. Army, Vietnam, Dwight Swisher, Stillwater; eight sisters, Mrs. Anne Mick, Wichita, Kan., Mrs. Clara Langley, Ponca City, Mrs. Wanda Vollentine, Casper, Wyo., Mrs. Carol Penix, 713 W. Ninth; Mrs. Barbara White, 105 S. Lowry; Mrs. Lenora Devine, 1201 Ransom Dr., Mrs. Ruth Focht, Rt. 1, and Mrs. Sallie Brown, 1401 S. Springfield.
Pallbearers have been named as Al Furman, Ivan Focht, Paul Brown, Douglas Penix, Aubrey Williamsm, Bill Cooper, James Langley, Lucky Letterman, Max Duncan and John Vollentine.

WANDA MAE (30 Sep 1936 - 25 Jan 2002) Cremated; ashes were scattered over her favorite fishing lake.

Wanda Mae Swisher Mertz died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, (sic - Jan. 25, 2002) in Mills, Wyo. No services were held; she was cremated. She is survived by her sons, Scott Yownt (sic - Yount), Casper, Wyo., Stanley Yownt (sic - Yount and wife Jonnie, Casper, Wyo.; daughter, Lisa Vollontine, Casper, Wyo.; sisters, Barbara White, Stillwater, Clara Langley and husband James, Ponca City, Sallie Brown and husband Paul, Garland, Texas; brothers, Ronald R. Swisher and wife Kay, Tulsa and Dwight Swisher and wife Kim, Stillwater. Memorials may be sent to the charity of your choice.

Mary Ruth Swisher Tassin of Galveston, Texas, died on July 20. She is survived by her sons Mike, Ron, Steve, David and Kevin Waltman; their wives; 14 grandchildren and John Tassin and his family. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on July 29 at the Victory Christian Center in Stillwater. Respects can be sent to Carnes Brothers Funeral Home in Galveston, Texas.
