                      THE KELLY AND COLLATERAL FAMILIES


     The name Kelly (O'Ceallaigh) O'Kelly, Sept of Ui Maine (called Hy Many)
were in County Meath and the Eastern part of County Galway as well as the South
part of County Roscommon.  The O'Kelly of Ulster were in Counties Antrim and
Derry.  The O'Kelly, Septs of Leix (1543) were in Middle Ireland.  The Kellys
(Kealy and O'Kiely) of Kilkenny and Tipperary are O'Caollaidhe, not O'Ceallaigh.

     Alice Theresa Kelley Doty, 4-7, is the daughter of Bernard Peter Kelly, 3-8,
and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan Kelly.  Bernard Peter Kelly, 3-8, was the son of
Peter Kelly, 2-2, and Ellen Fitzpatrick of Douglasfield.  Peter was the son of
Immigrants Phillip Kelly, 1-1, and Katharine Gratton.  The maternal grandparents
of Bernard Peter Kelly were Immigrants Jeremiah Fitzpatrick and Mary (Breen?).


                           PHILLIP KELLY (1805-1885)

     Phillip Kelly, 1-1, was born in County Cork, Ireland between 1800 and 1806
and died in Derby Parish, Northumberland County, New Brunswick, Canada on August
29, 1885.  He is buried in St. Bridget's old Catholic cemetery, Renous, N.B. -
no marker.  He left Ireland and arrived in New Brunswick in 1826.  He married a
young Irish colleen by the name of Katherine Gratton of Upper Nelson about 1835
at Nelson, N.B.
     Katharine Gratton was born in County Cork, Ireland about 1819 and died on
October 17, 1883.  She is buried in St Bridget's old Catholic cemetery, Renous,
N.B.  She came to N.B. from Ireland in 1830.  She may have been a sister to
Henry Gratton of upper Nelsom and may have been a daughter of old Peter Gratton.
     On page 14 of the Census Report for Nelson Parish, Northumberland Co., New
Brunswick, Canada which was completed July 8, 1851, we find living in a log cabin -
Phillip Kelly age 45, born in Ireland and came to N.B. in 1826; Katharine Kelly,
his wife, age 31, born in Ireland and came to N.B. in 1830.  Children - all born
in N.B. - Patrick Kelly age 15, Peter age 13, Elizabeth age 12, Katharine age 10,
Thomas age 8, Mary age 6, Jane age 3, Margaret age 1.
     On page 3 of the Census Report for Derby Parish, same County which was
completed Sept 16, 1861 we find - Phillip Kelly age 60, born in Ireland, race-
Irish, Religion-Roman Catholic; Katharine Kelly, wife, age 47, born in Ireland,
race-Irish, Religion-Roman Catholic; Children:  all born in N.B.  Patrick age 24,
Peter age 22, Elizabeth age 20, Katharine age 18, Thomas age 16, Mary age 14,
Michael age 12, Margaret age 9, Henry age 7.  The parents have aged 15 and 16
years respectively in the last 10 years.
     On page 32 of the Census Report for the same area as in 1861 which was
taken April 11, 1871, we find - Phillip Kelly age 70, born in Ireland, race-
Irish, Religion-Roman Catholic; Catharine Kelly, wife, age 59, born in Ireland,
race-Irish, Religion-Roman Catholic;  Children - All born in N.B.  Patrick age 34,
Lizzie age 26, Thomas age 24, Michael age 20, Margaret age 17, Henry age 15.

     The children of Phillip Kelly and Katharine Gratton were Patrick, Peter,
Elizabeth, Katharine, Thomas, Mary, Jane, Margaret, Michael, and Henry.

2-1. Patrick Kelly was born Feb 29, 1836 and died April 16, 1902. He married
     Annie Ross on Sept 11, 1873 at Renous.  She was born Oct 20, 1855 and died
     March 23, 1940.  She was the daughter of Joseph Ross and Marcelne Breau.

     Children of Patrick Kelly and Annie Ross.

     1.   Joseph Patrick Kelly was born June 5, 1874 and died March 2, 1955.
          He married Christine Ann Shannon on             .  She was born
          and died July 15, 1961.  Children:   James, Della, Herman, May, Rupert,
          Mary Ellen, Hilda, and twins.

     2.  John Phillip Kelly was born June 25, 1875 and died March 23, 1887.
     3.  Annie Jane Kelly was born April 26, 1879 and died Jan 10, 1963.  She
         married Dennis Charles Sullivan of Orono, Maine.  She was interred in
         Riverside Cemetery, Orono, Maine.

     4.  Mary Charlotte Kelly was born March 18, 1883 and died June 3, 1962. Not
         married.  Bangor, Maine.  She is buried at St Bridget's Catholic cemetery
         Renous, N.B.

     5.  Martha Ellen Kelly was born Sept 20, 1885 and died
         Not married. Bryenton, N.B.

     6.  James William Kelly was born April 12, 1889 and died March 8, 1890.

     7.  Helena (Lena) Elizabeth Kelly was born Nov 4, 1891 and died
         Not married.

     8.  Emiline (Emily) Catharine Kelly was born May 8, 1894 and died
         She married Charles Edward Colepaugh on July 16, 1913.  He was the son
         of Thomas Colepaugh.  Charles died March 3, 1914.  Emily married second
         Leander Gregory Allain on May 4, 1920.  He died Dec 29, 1954.  No
         children by first husband.  Children by second husband.

2-2. Peter Kelly was born about 1837 ih Nelson parish and died in Derby Parish,
     Northumberland Co., N.B. on Sept 29, 1918.  He is buried in the old cemetery
     of St Bridget's Catholic church, Renous, N.B., Canada.  He was married to
     Ellen Fitzpatrick on June 30, 1863 at Chatham, N.B. by Bishop Rogers.  She
     was born about 1844 and died Jan 10, 1929, age: 84 years.  She is buried in
     the new cemetery of St. Bridget's Catholic church, Renous, N.B.  See
     Fitzpatrick family.
          On page 32 of the Census Report for Derby Parish, Northumberland Co., New
     Brunswick, Canada which was taken on April 11, 1871 we find - Peter Kelly,
     age 31, born in N.B., race-Irish, Religion-RC;  Ellen Kelly, wife, age 27,
     born in N.B., race-Irish, Religion-RC;  Children - all born in N.B.  Thomas
     age 6, Willie H. age 4, Mary J. age 3, Katie E. age 2, Elizabeth age 3 mos,
     born Jan 1871.

           Children of Peter Kelly and Ellen Fitzpatrick:  Thomas John, Wm Henry,
     Mary Jane, Catharine Ellen, Elizabeth Lydia, Jerome Phillip, Laura Agness,
     Bernard Peter, Gertrude, Arthur Vincent, Lucy Agnes, Emily Teresa, Frederick
     Joseph.

3-1. Thomas John Kelly was born July 10, 1864 in Derby Parish, Northumberland Co.,
     N.B., Canada.  He died June 9, 1947 at Mora, Kanohee Co., Minnesota. He is
     buried in St Mary's cemetery, Mora, Minn.  He married Johannah Caroline Sell
     in Pine City, Minn. on Nov 17, 1896.  She was born July 1r, 1877 in Skone,
     Sweden and came to the U.S. about 1883.  She died June 15, 1950 and is buried
     beside her husband.  Johannah was the daughter of        Sell(b.   D.1899)
     and            They had four children (2 boys and 2 girls).
     Thomas and Hannah Kelly had nine children:  Ellen, Peter, Lucy, Rose, Ethel,
     Clarence, John, and two boys who died in childhood.

     1.  Ellen Agness Kelly was born May 10, 1897 at Mora, Minn.  She married
         Ossie McKenzie on June 30, 1919 at the Parish House in Foreston, Minn.
         Ossie was born   , 1892 at Watkins, Minn and was living at Douglas, M
         McLean Co, N. Dakota.  They had four children:

         A.  Lorene Agnes McKenzie was born Dec 24, 1920.  She married Vincent
             Conklin in 1940 at Garrison, N.D.  They had two children:

             (1)  Charlotte Conklin was born in 1940 and married Rollin Walters
                  of Colgan, N.D. in 1961.  They have a girl born Jan 1963.
             (2)  Tommy Conklin was born         , 1952.
         B.  Ralph Peter McKenzie was born Dec 27, 1929.  He married Lois Brandt
             of Ryder, N.D. in 1956.  Dhildren:
             (1)  One adopted son born  Dec 1962.
         C.  Marie Ellen McKenzie was born Oct 10, 1933.  Not married. She
             lives in Towner or Douglas, N.D.
         D.  Patrick Darrill McKenzie was born May 3, 1937.  He married Frances
             Johnson of Ryder, N.D. in 1959.  Children:

      3. Lucy Kelly was born     and died March 21, 1955.  She married Jerome
         Greene.  He was born      and died Sept 11, 1961.  4 children:

3-4. Catharine (Katie) Ellen Kelly was born April 17, 1869 and died Nov 13,
     1940.  She is buried in the new cemetery at St Bridget's, Renous, N.B.
     She married George Hogan of Derby, N.B.
         The following information is given on the Hogan family.  On page 10 of
     the Census Report of Blissfield Parish, Northumberland Co., N.G. for 1851
     we find George Hogan's grandfather and father listed.  It was completed
     July 21, 1851.  George Hogan's grandfather - William Hogan age 51, born in
     Ireland-entered NB in June 1819.  Mary Hogan (wife) age 46- born in Ireland
     entered NB in June 1822.Bartholomew Hogan (father of George) age 28-
     born in Ireland- entered NB in June 1826.  Hannah Hogan age 22, born in Nb:
     Catharine age 23 born in NB, Daniel age 18, born in NB; Mary age 16,
     William age 14; Elizabeth age 12; James age 10; Nancy age 8; John age 6.
         On page 14 for the same area which was completed Aug 29, 1861 it gave -
     Bartholomew Hogan age 40, born in Ireland, Roman Catholic; Nancy age 27,

         On page 10 of the Census Report for Division 2 of Blissfield Parish,
     Northumberland Co., NB, which was taken April 8, 1871, we find - Bartholomew
     Hogan age 51, born in Ireland, race-Irish, Religion-Roman Catholic; Nancy
     Hogan, wife, age 40, born in NB, race-Irish, Religion-Roman Catholic;
     Children - all born in NB - John E. age 13, George age 10, Mary E. age 7,
     Nancy L. age 4, Daniel age 35, brother.
         Children of George Hogan and Katie Kelly:

3-8. Bernard Peter Kelly was born July 28, 1876 and died Sept 30, 1956.  He
     married Mary Elizabeth Sullivan of Williamstown, N.B. on July 13, 1904.
     She was the daughter of Sylvester Sullivan and Elizabeth Colepaugh.  See
     Sullivan and Colepaugh families.  Bernard P. and Mary E. Kelly are buried
     in the cemetery of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Millerton, N.B.
     Children of Bernard Peter Kelly and Mary Elizabeth Sullivan:
     4-1. Lawrence Sylvester Kelly was born May 7, 1905 and died Nov 20, 1955.
          Not married. He is buried beside his parents.
     4-2. Julia Elizabeth Kelly was born June 21, 1906 and died
          She married Eddie Edward Gauvin Nov 22, 1936.  The live at 18 Hammond
          Street, Caribou, Maine.  Eddie was born Oct 7, 1910.  He was the son
          of Amie Gauvin and Julia Michaud.  Eddie was born at St Leonard, N.B.
          His father was born in the U.S. and his mother was born in N.B. Canada.
          Children:
          A.  Robert was born Jan 12, 1940.  He served in the U.S. Navy from
              March 1958 to March 1962.  He married Arlene Flood of Beacon Falls,
              Conn. in June 1966.
     4-3. Peter Burton Kelly (twin) was born June 16, 1908 and died
          He married Mildred Susan Underhill of Blackville, N.B. on Sept 22, 1937
          She is the daughter of Alexander Underhill and Margaret O'Brien.

          A.  Mary Joan Kelly was born Feb 7, 1939 and married Charles Harris
              Verge on March 30, 1964.  They have one son Peter Charles born
              Sept 15, 1965.
          B.  Margaret Elaine Kelly was born April 2, 1940 and married Wallace
              Joseph Jimmo on July 1, 1963 at St Patrick's Catholic Church,
              South Nelson, N.B. by Rev. B. M. Broderick.  He was the son of
              Raymond Jimmo and Katherine McIntyre.
              Children:
              1.  Mary Elizabeth was born May 21, 1964.
              2.  Karen was born April 18, 1965 and died April 28, 1965.

         his parents.

     4-5. Kathleen Estella Kelly (twin) was born March 19, 1911 and died
          She married Michael Curry on May 27, 1950.  No children.

     4-6. Mary Marguerite Kelly (twin) was born March 19, 1911 and died
          She married Herbert Hanley on July 13, 1935. He was born
          and died Dec 1964.
	    Children:
          A.  Mary Elizabeth Hanley was born Oct 12, 1936 and married Robert
              Pikoulas on      , 1955.  Children:
	        1.  Catherine was born Oct   , 1956.

     4-7. Alice Theresa Kelly (twin) was born July 25, 1913 and married John
          Hubert Doty on Sept 10, 1949 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital, Denver, Col.
          He was born Oct 22, 1914 at Beecher City, Moccasin Township, Illimois.
          He is the son of John Wendell Doty (10-7-1874) (3-8-1962) and Anna
          Jane King (11-6-1883) (     ).  Children:
          A.  Mary Ann Doty was born Oct 21, 1951 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital
              and baptised at St James Catholic Church, 1284 Newport, Denver,
              Col on 11-19-1951.
          B.  John Bernard Doty was born Feb 12, 1954 at Fitzsimons Army Hospital
              and baptised at St James Catholic Church on Feb 28, 1954.

     4-8.  Ruby Helen Kelly (twin) was born July 25, 1913 and married Gerald
           McGrath on July 19, 1939.  They have two adopted children:

           Gerald was the son of Wm A. McGrath (4-15-1872 d.8.30.1960) and
           Mary B. Sullivan(          , d.     1948).  Wm A. was the son of

           Northumberland Co., N.B.Canada.	

     4-9.  Francis Aaron Willis Kelly was born on Sept 20, 1915.  He married
           Margaret McCarthy of South Nelson, NB on Aug 24, 1954.  No children.

3-9. Gertrude Kelly was born March 7, 1879 and died March 7, 1879.
3-10 Arthur Vincent Kelly was born Jan 30, 1880 and died March 14, 1880.
3-11 Lucy Agnes Kelly was born May 25, 1881 and died March 12, 1886.
3-12 Emily Teresa Kelly was born Dec 8, 1883 and died Aug 17, 1886
3-13 Frederick Joseph Kelly was born Jan 31, 1886 and died Feb 16, 1917. Not
     married.


2-3. Elizabeth Kelly was born about 1838 and died    , 1912.  She is buried at
     Three Lakes, Wisconsin.  She married Edward Gratton of Duluth, Minnesota.
     He died in 1914.  He was the son of Edward Gratton and

      umberland Co., NB, Canada which was completer 10-25-1851, we find - Patrick
      Doran, age 53, born in Ireland and came to NB in Dec 1815; Mary Doran, wife,
      age 40, born in Ireland, came to NB in Sept 1831;  Children - all born in NB
      Bridget age 15, Michael age 13, John age 9, Catherine age 6, Mary Ann age 4
      Bridget was the step-daughter of Patrick Doran.  Her name was Bridget
      Cassidy.
          On page 3 of the Census Report for the same area which was taken in 1861
      we find Patrick Doran age 63, born in Ireland, race-Irish, Religion-RC;
      Mary Doran, wife, age 45, born in Ireland, race-Irish, Religion-RC; All
      children born in NB:  John age 18, Catharine age 15, Mary Ann age 13,
      and step daughter, Bridget Cassidy, age 23.
          On page 20 of the Census Report for District 2 of Glenelg Parish which
      was taken on April 10, 1871, we find patrick Doran age 84, born in Ireland,
      race-Irish, religion-RC; Mary Doran, wife, age 55, born in Ireland, race-
      Irish, religion-RC; Children and all others in household were born in NB.
      John Doran age 27, Mary Kelly Doran age 21, Mary Ann Doran age 21, Mary
      Ann Doran age 10, Mary Ann Doran age 1 mo. (born March   , 1871, child of
      John and Mary Kelly Doran).  Children of Mary Kelly and John Doran:
      1.  Mary Ann Doran was born March    , 1871.

      and died           He had a brother John and a sister Ellen and maybe more.
      Children of Margaret Kelly and Thomas Kingston.
      1.  James Kingston was born      and died       He married Mabel Donahue.
          No children.

          Wallace.  Children:

2-9.  Michael (Mick) Kelly was born about 1852 and died Feb   , 1929.  Not
      married.

2-10. Henry Kelly was born     , 1853 and died       , 1923.  He married Mary
      Fitzpatrick, sister to Ellen.  Mary was born     , 1842 and died
      1922.  They married about 1872.  They had only one child who grew to
      adulthood.
      1.  Phillip B. Kelly was born         and died     , 1956.  He married
          Molly Taylor of Sout Esk at Red Bank on Sept 3, 1913.  Children:
          A.  Murdock Kelly was born     and married Betty Maderville.
          B.  Lauretta Kelly was born     and married Charles Hachey.

                          FITZPATRICK FAMILY

      Jeremiah Fitqpatrick was born about 1811 in Ireland and died between
1851 and 1861.  He came to New Brunswick from Ireland in 1831.  He married
Mary Breen about 1838.  She was born about 1815 and was living on April 3,
1871.

      The Census Report of Chatham Parish, Northumberland Co., New Brunswick,
Canada, which was completed Nov 8, 1851, gave the following information on
page 21 - JERMIAH FITZPATRICK, age 40, born in Ireland and entered NB in 1831;
MARY, wife, age 35, born in Ireland and entered NB in 1836;  All children
were born in NB.  MARY age 11, ELLEN age 9,  MICHAEL age 6,  CATHARINE age 5,
WILLIAM age 9 months.
      The next entry was TIMOTHY FITZPATRICK age 40, born in Ireland and
entered NB in 1822;  BRIDGET, wife, age 22 or 32, born in Ireland and
entered NB in 1837; Children: Wm age 7, Catharine age 5, Mary Ann age 3,
Mary Fitqpatrick age 63 - mother.of Timothy,
born in Ireland and entered NB in 1822, widow, (I believe she is also the
mother of Jermiah;) Wm age 23, brother of Timothy, born in NB; Johannah
Lockman, age 60, widow, mother of Bridget, born in Ireland and entered NB
in 1828; Michael Lockman age 23, brother of Bridget, born in Ireland and
entered NB in 1828.
      On page 90 of the Census Report for the same area as in 1851, which
was completed Nov 30, 1861, we find - Mary Fitzpatrick, age 50, born in Ireland,
race - Irish, religion-Roman Catholic, widow; Children* all born in NB.
Mary age 19, Ellen age 17, Michael age 15, Catharine age 16, William age 11.
      On page 59 for the same area we find - Timothy Fitqpatrick age 50,
born in Ireland; Bridget age 39, born in Ireland; Children: Wm age 17,
Catharine age 15, Mary Ann age 11, Ellen age 8, Margaret B. age 19 months.
      On page 2 of the Census Report for Division 1, of the same area as
in 1851 and 1861 which was taken on April 7, 1871, we find - Mary B. Fitzpatrick,
Widow, age 50, born in Ireland; Wm Fitzpatrick, son, age 9.
      On page 78 of the Census Report for Division 2, of the same area
which was taken on the 20th of April 1871, we find - Timothy Fitzpatrick,
age 62, etc., Bridget, age 50, etc; Children: Wm age 27, Mary age 22,
Wllen age 17, Margaret age 9.

CHILDREN OF JEREMIAH FITZPATRICK AND MARY (BREEN?)

1.  Mary Fitzpatrick was born about 1842 and married Henry Kelly.  See
    husband for additional information.
2.  Ellen Fitzpatrick was born about 1844 and married Peter Kelly.  See
    husband for additional information.
3.  Michael Fitzpatrick was born about 1845 and died before 1871.  He was not
    listed on the 1871 census.  He may have been living away from home in 1871.
4.  Catharine Fitzpatrick was born about 1846 and died in 1920.  She married
    John Harrigan (or was it James Harrigan, 1854-1908), the son of Corneilius (?)
    Harrigan and     Sauntry.  John Jr was born about 1836 and died in 1908.
    Children of JOHN HARRIGAN AND CATHARINE FITZPATRICK OF CHELMSFORD:
    A.    William (Will) Harrigan, b. 1874 d.
    B.    Mary Jane Harrigan Kirk wasborn Nov 3, 1876 and died March 30, 1963.

                          SULLIVAN FAMILY

      MARY ELIZABETH SULLIVAN KELLY was the daughter of Sylvester Sullivan
and Elizabeth Colepaugh.  She was the granddaughter of Michael Sullivan and
Alice Green.  Her maternal grandparents were George Colepaugh and Catharine
Donavon.
      On pag e 5 of the Census Report of North Esk Parish, Northumberland
Co., NB., Canada which was completed Oct 31, 1851, we find the following
information on MICHAEL SULLIVAN and family.  Michael Sullivan age 52, born
in Ireland and came to NB in 1825;  Alice Sullivan, wife, age 40, born in
Ireland and came to NB in 1825;  All children born in NB.  Sylvester age 14,
Mary age 13, John age 12, Daniel age 9, Michael age 7, William age 4.
      On page 33 of the Census Report for the same area which was bompleted
Oct 31, 1861, we find - Michael Sullivan age 70, born in Ireland; Alice
Sullivan, wife, age 50, born in Ireland;  All children born in NB.  Sylvester
age 25, Mary age 23, Daniel age 21, Michael ag e 19, William age 17, Elizabeth
age 14.
      On page 42 of the Census Report for the same area but subdivision 2
which was taken on April 27, 1871 we find - Alice O'Sullivan, widow, age 60.
born in Ireland, Catholic;  All children born in NB.  Daniel Age 27, Michael age
24, William age 19, Julia age 22?? Who is she?  Wlizabeth age 16.
      Also on page 45 of the same area which was completed on April 28, 1871,
we find Silvester O'Sullivan age 34, born in NB, Catholic, race-Irish;
Elizabeth O'Sullivan, wife, age 37, born in NB, Catholic, race-Irish;  All
children born in NB.  Michael Aaron age 1, Catholic, race-Irish.
      From the information given in the Census Reports and family records
we have Michael Sullivan as being vorn between 1791 and 1799 in Ireland and
entering the Colony of New Brunswick in 1825.  He died Sept 23, 1865 and more th
than likely is buried in Nelson or Red Bank, N.B.  He married Alice Green
about 1836 in Nelson.  Alice was born about 1811 in Ireland and entered the
Colony of New Brunswick in 1825.  She died May 22, 1872.  She is buried near
her husband.

1.  Sylvester Sullivan was born     , 1837 and died Oct 23, 1903.  Age:  66 yrs.
    He married Elizabe th Colepaugh on      , 1869. She was born      , 1835 in
    N.B. and died Oct 27, 1899.  Age: 64 yrs.  (See family of George Colepaugh, Sr.)
    Children:
    A.  Michael Aaron Sullivan was born April 3, 1870 and was living in
        Western Canada during the 1940's.
    B.  George Thomas Sullivan was born June    , 1872 and died at the age of
        six months - whooping cough.  Twin.
    C.  Alice Catharine Sullivan was born June    , 1872 and died at the age of
        six months - whooping cough.  Twin.
    D.  Mary Elizabeth Sullivan was born Sept 10, 1873 and died Oct 21, 1959.
        She was born near Williamstown, N.B.  Her funeral was held Saturday
        morning Oct 24, 1959 from the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel,
        Millerton, N.B.  Interrment was in the family plot of the adjoining
        cemetery.  She married Bernard Peter Kelly.  See husband for further
        information.

2.  Mary Sullivan was born about  1838 and died Dec 24, 1914.  She married
    Dinnie Sauntry.  Children:
    A.  Wm E. Sauntry was born        and died Jan 12, 1923.
    B.  Daniel Sauntry was born            and married Maggie Patterson.
	  Children:  Mary, two other girls and a boy.

3.  John Sullivan was born about 1839 and died between 1851 and 1861.  Not
    further information could be found on him.

4.  Daniel Sullivan was born about 1842 and died

5.  Michael Sullivan was born about 1844 and died Sept 28, 1917.  Age: 72.
    Not married.

6.  William Sullivan was born about 1847 and died

7.  Julia Sullivan was born about 1849 and died
    She married Daniel C. Donovan         He was born     and died 6-23-1917.

8.  Elizabeth Sullivan was born about 1854 and died Sept 24, 1915.  She
    married         Donovan.


                            COLEPAUGH FAMILY

      George Colepaugh was born between 1800 and 1806 in the United States of
German parentage.  He came to New Brunswick in 1827.  He died Aug 17, 1887.
It is said that he served in the American Army in Kentucky.  His mother and
sister were killed b  Indians.
      He married Catherine Donovan.  She was born between 1805 and 1811 in
Ireland and died       1877.  She came to New Brunswick in 1831.
      On Page 1 of t e Census Report of Blackville Parish, Northumberland
Co., New Brunswick, Canada which was completed July 2, 1851, we find - George
Colepaugh, age 45, born in America and came to N.B. in 1827;  Catharine, wife,
age 40, born in Ireland and entered N.B. in 1831;  All children born in N.B.
Elizabeth, age 16, Eleanor (Ellen) age 14, Christopher age 12, Catharine age 10,
Thomas age 8, Margaret age 4.
      This family could not be found on the 1861 report.  On page 1 of the
Census Report for Division 1, Blissfield Parish, Northumberland Co., New

age 71, born in the United States of German parentage, Religion - Roman Catholic

Roman Catholic;  All children born in N.B.  Catharine age 27, Thomas age 26,
Margaret age 22, and William Clancey age 11.

Christopher, Catharine, Thomas, and Margaret

1.  Elizabeth Colepaugh was born about 1835 in N.B. and died 10-27-1899.  She
    married Sylvester Sullivan.  See husband for children.

2.  Eleanor (Ellen) Colepaugh was born about 1837 in NB and died Jan 29, 1900.
    She married twice - 1st       Roberts who was killed in the American Civil
    was (1861-1865).  Second - to Robert Stuart prior to 1871.

3.  Christopher Colepaugh was born about 1839 in N.B.  He left home and was
    never heard from again.

4.  Catherine Colepaugh was born about 1841 in N.B. and died 12-23-1901.  She
    married Henry McCafferty, son of Henry McCafferty and Elizabeth Holland.
    Children:
    A.  Thomas McCafferty was born      and died at age five weeks on Renous
        River.
    B.  Mary McCafferty was born     and died     She married Wm John Whalen
        of Renous.  John was born 2-14-1878. and died 10-27-1962.
    C.  Henry McCafferty was born
    D.  George McCafferty was born
    E.  Elizabeth McCafferty (Bessie) was born     and married Edward Singleton.
        Children:

    Carrol.  Murdock was born in 1842 and died Oct   , 1895.  Children:
    A.    John McCarthy was born 8-26-1887.  Not married.  He lives in Black Hawk, Ont.
    B.    George McCarthy was born Dec 10, 1889.  Not married.  He lives with his
          brother, John


                          MCCAFFERTY FAMILY

On the Census Report of Glenelg Parish, Northumberland Co., N.B. we find the
following information on the Henry McCafferty Sr family.  In 1851 on page 43
we find - Henry McCafferty age 51, born in Ireland and entered N.B. in July
1825; Elizabeth Holland McCafferty, wife, age 38, born in Ireland and entered
N.B. in July 1832.  All children were born in N.B.  Rhomas age 17, Henry age 9,
Hugh age 6, Bridget age 12, Sarah age 16, Catherine age 2, Elizabeth age 4,
Margaret age 2 mos.
      On page 28 of Glenelg parish, Northumberland Co., N.B. for 1861 we find -
Mary McCafferty widow, age 48, born in Ireland, Roman Catholic;  All children
born in NB.  Henry age 19, Hugh age 17, Bridget age 22, Sarah age 24, Catharine
age 13, Elizabeth age 15, Margaret age 10, Mary age 8.
      Also on page 29 of the same report for 1861 we find Thomas McCafferty
age 27, born in NB;  Mary McCafferty age 28, wife, born in Ireland;  Children:
Henry age 2 and Robert age 2 months.
      On page 1 of Division 3 for Newcastle Parish, Northumberland Co., NB,
dated April 3, 1871 we find - Henry McCafferty age 26, born in NB, race-Irish,
religion-Roman Catholic;  Sarah age 22, sister, born in N.B., race-Irish,
Roman Catholic;  Ellen age 22, Ellen age 22, Margaret age 19, and a boy
whose name could not be read age 4.
      Also in 1871 on page 18 of Division 3 for Glenelg Parish we find -
Thomas McCafferty age 37; Mary age 39, wife;  Children:  Henry age11, Robert
age 9, Hugh age 7, William age 6, Thomas age 4, and Elizabeth age 2.
      Henry McCafferty Sr and Elizabeth Holland had the following children:
Thomas who married Mary        ; Sarah who married       Hayes;  Bridget
who married        Harrington; Henry who married Catharine Colepaugh; Hugh
who married            ; Wlizabeth who married           ; Catharine who
married          O'Donnel;(and had two children);  Margaret who married
Pierce;  Mary who married         Morris;  Bessie who married        Allen;
(Elizabeth was not mentioned in the family records and Bessie was not
mentioned in the Census Reports.)

                           MCCARTHY FAMILY

Murdock had a brother James (1840-1925) and a sister, Eleanor Elizabeth (1839-
died about 1870).  On page 17 of the Census Report of North Esk Parish,
Northumberland Co., NB which was completed Oct 31, 1851, we find - John
McCarthy age 45, born in Ireland and entered NB in 1825;  Mary McCarthy, wife,
age 40, born in Ireland and entered Nb in 1825;  All children born in NB.
Eleanor (called Elizabeth) age 12, daughter; James age 11, son;  Murphy
(called Murdock) age 9, son.  The same area was completed on Nov 21, 1861
and gave on pag e 43 the following information:  John McCarthy age 70, born
in Ireland;  Mary age 50, wife, born in Ireland;  All children born in NB.
Elizabeth (called Eleanor) age 21, daughter;  James age 19, son;  Murdock,
age 18, son.
      On page 8,Division 2, of North Esk Parish, dated April 7, 1871, we find -
Murdock McCarthy age 25, born in NB;  Mary McCarthy, mother, age 62, born in
Ireland, widow; James age 27, born in NB; Oran or Owen McCarthy age 80;
John McCarthy, age 9.


                           DONOVAN FAMILY

      On page 3 of the Census Report of Blackville Parish, Northumberland Co.,
NB which was completed July 2, 1851 we find Michael (Mick) Donovan and
family.  Michael Donovan age 34, born in Ireland and came to NB in 1323;
Mary, wife, age 28, born in Ireland and entered NB in 1831;  All children
born in NB.  Johnna (Johanna) age 5 - must have died prior to 1861, not
listed on 1862 report;  Timothy age 4, Ellen age 2.
      There were several Donovan families listed in 1851 but the parents of
Michael Donovan were most likely listed on page 5 of the same report as -
Timothy Donovan age 73, born in Ireland and came to NB in 1824;  Ellen, wife,
age 68, born in Ireland and entered NB in 1824;  Jerimiah Dunavon, son, also
husband, age 30, born in Ireland and came to NB in 1824;  Bridget, wife, age
25, born in Ireland and came to NB in 1826;  All children born in NB.  Ellen
age 4, July Ann age 2, Mary Ann age 9 months.
      On page 33 of the Census Report of Blackville Parish, Morthumberland
Co., NB for 1861 which was bompleted Jan 14, 1862 we find - Michael Donovan
age 46, born in Ireland, Religion-Roman Catholic;  Mary Donavon, wife, age 38,
born in Ireland;  All children born in NB.  Timothy, son, age 15; Ellen,
daughter, age 12;  Catharine, daughter, age 10, our subject;  Mary A.  daughter,
age 8; Jeramiah, son, age 5;  Johannah, daughter, age 1;  This family was
Roman Catholic.
      On page 39, Division 1, of the Census Report of Blackville parish,
Northumberland Co., NB which was taken April    , 1871, we find:  Michael
Donovan age 55, born in Ireland;  Mary, wife, age 50, born in Ireland;  All
childr en born in NB. Timothy age 23, Catharine age 19, Mary age 16, Jeriah,
age 14, Johannah age 11, William age 8.
      Children of Michael (Mick) Donovan and Mary Ellen Hollihan.
1.  Johannah born 1845 and died prior to 1861.
2.  Timothy born in 1847 and married            He moved to the United States.
3.  Ellen born in 1849 and married
4.  Catharine (1851-1936) married Thomas Colepaugh
5.  Mary Anne (1853-19  ) married John Dunn.
6.  Jeramiah (1856-    ) married Catharine Vickers
