Registered on the first of July, 1853 at 11 o'clock a.m.
on the certificate of W. Gordon, J.P.

This indenture, made the first day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and fifty-three between Alexander C. McDonald of Pictou, in the County of Pictou and the Province of Nova Scotia, Esquire, of the one part and Jacob Langill of the same place, yeoman, of the other part.

Witnesseth that for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of the Province aforesaid to the said Alexander C. McDonald in hand well and truly paid by the said Jacob Langill at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. He, the said Alexander C. McDonald, hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, remised, released, enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, remise, release, enfeoff and confirm unto the said Jacob Langill, his heirs and assigns, all that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at River John aforesaid, bounded as follows

Viz - beginning at the north east angle of a lot of land formally belonging to James Murray, Jr., and running thence north eleven and a half degrees east twelve chains and twenty-five links to the south west angle of William Murray's lot, thence east along the same seventy-eight chains to the boundary of Robert Murray's land, thence south along said boundary line twelve chains to the north east angle of James Murray's lot before mentioned and thence west on the same eighty chains to the place of beginning, containing ninety acres, more or less, with all and singular, the houses, buildings, barns, ways, watercourses, improvements, privileges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the revision and revisions, remainder and remainders, issues and profits thereof, also all the estate, right, title, property, interest, claim and demand of the said Alexander C. McDonald of, into and upon the same.

To Have and to hold the said described lot of land in premises with the appurtenances unto him, the said Jacob Langill, his heirs and assigns forever. And the said Alexander C. McDonald, for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators, doth hereby covenant and agree to and with the said Jacob Langill, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in manner and form following. That is to say, that he, the said Alexander C. McDonald, at the time of executing these presents stands seized of a good and sufficient estate in fee simple of and in the said lot, piece or parcel of land and premises herein and hereby granted, sold and conveyed with the appurtenances and that he hath good right, full power and lawful authority to grant, sell and convey the same in manner and form above-mentioned. And also he, the said Alexander C. McDonald and his heirs, the said lot, piece or parcel of land and premises with the appurtenances unto him, the said Jacob Langill, his heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims and demands of all and every person and persons whomsoever shall and will warrant, maintain and forever defend.

In witness whereof the said parties to these presents have hereunto their hands and seals subscribed and set this day and year first above written.

Received on the day of the foregoing indenture from Jacob Langill herein named, the sum of thirty pounds of lawful money of Nova Scotia, being the full consideration money therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.

Leehart Langill of River John, in the County of Pictou, yeoman, maketh and saith that he was present and saw the foregoing indenture signed, sealed and executed by the parties thereto and that he is a subscribing witness to the same.
