To Edward F. G. Kirkwood, Surgeon, Administrator, of all and singular the estate, goods and effects of William Langill, late of Tatamagouche Road in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased.

Greeting
Whereby a decree made and passed in a Court of Probate held at the Office of the Judge at Pictou in and for the County of Pictou on the twenty-seventh day of January A.D.1854 in the matter of the Estate of the above named William Langill, deceased, it was adjudged, ordered and decided that license be granted to you, the said Administrator for the sale of the real estate of the said deceased, for the payment of the debts due by the said deceased estate.

And whereas in accordance with the requirements of the statutes in such case made and provided security in due form has been given to account for the proceeds of such sale according to law.

Now in pursuance of the said Decree and by virtue of the power and authority invested, I do hereby grant unto you the said Administrator license for the sale of the real estate of the said deceased for the purpose of paying the debts due from the said deceased estate and you are hereby authorized after having given public notice thereof by advertisement in the Royal Gazette at Halifax and by posting up notices thereof in the township or settlement when such lands be for thirty days previous thereto to make such sale by putting up and selling such real estate by Public Action and therefore to make a Deed or Deeds of Conveyance to the purchase or purchases thereof, in accordance with the law in such case made and provided.

Given and granted under my hand and the seal of the said Contract Pictou this 28th day of February A.D. 1854

I, Thomas Dickson, Esquire, Registrar of the Court for the Probate of Wills and for granting Letters of Administration within and for the County of Pictou do hereby certify that the foregoing paper writing is a true and correct copy of the license granted by the worshipful James Fogo, Esquire, the Judge of the said Court for the sale of real estate in the matter of the Estate of William Langille, late of Tatamagouche Road, in the County of Pictou, Farmer, deceased Intestate.

Given under my hand and the seal of the said Court at Pictou this twenty-second day of August A.D. 1854. Thomas Dickson Registrar
