Robert Langill, and wife, to Alexander McKenzie
Registered 23rd August, 1845, 3 o'clock p.m. on the oath of Charles McLennan, J.P.

This Indenture made at River John this third day of June, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and forty-five between Robert Langill of River John, aforesaid, in the County of Pictou, Yeoman, and Lucy his wife, of the one part and Alexander McKenzie of River John aforesaid, in the county, aforesaid, Esquire, of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Robert Langill and Lucy, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds of lawful money of the province of Nova Scotia to them in hand paid by the said Alexander McKenzie at or before the execution of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged: Have and each of them hath granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents do and each of them doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Alexander McKenzie, his heirs and assigns, all that certain lot of land situate, lying and being in the settlement of River John aforesaid.

Beginning on the south western side of said March Road at the north angle of Christopher Langill's farm lot, running thence south forty-five degrees west, forty-two chains more or less to lands belonging to George Joudery, Senior, thence north forty-five degrees west along said Joudery's land eighteen chains more or less to the south end boundary line of said George Joudery's farm lot, thence north forty-five degrees east along said boundary line fifty-two chains or to the south west side of said March Road, aforesaid, and thence south easterly along said road eighteen chains more of less to the place of beginning, containing ninety acres more or less.

To have and to hold the said lot of land and premises with all the buildings and improvements thereon, or thereunto belonging or in anyways appertaining to the said Alexander McKenzie, his heirs, executives, administrators and assigns to his and their only use, benefit and behoof forever and the said Robert Langill doth hereby bind himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against the lawful claim of all and every person or persons to warrant and defend the said Alexander McKenzie, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in the peaceable and quiet possession of the above conveyed premises forever.

In witness thereof the said Robert Langill and Lucy, his wife, have hereunder severally their names subscribed and seals affixed the day and year first above written.

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Indenture from the therein named Alexander McKenzie, the sum of one hundred and twenty pounds of lawful money the province of Nova Scotia, being in full the consideration therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.
