Robert Allan, and wife, to Jacob Langill
Registered 17th December, 1844, 12 o'clock noon on the oath of Charles McLennan, J.P.

This Indenture made at River John, in the County of Pictou and Province of Nova Scotia, the twenty-seventh day of November in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty-nine between Robert Allan of River John in the county and province aforesaid, blacksmith, of the one part and Jacob Langill of River John in the country and province aforesaid, yeoman, of the other part.

Witnesseth that the said Robert Allan for and in consideration of the sum of fifty pounds currency of the province of Nova Scotia aforesaid, to him in hand paid by the said Jacob Langill at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof and hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, enfeoffed, released and confirmed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell, enfeoff, release and confirm unto the said Jacob Langill, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever a certain lot or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the county west of River John and is abutted and bounded as follows.

That is to say being at the north western angle of lands granted to Alexander Thain in the county west of River John as aforesaid, thence to run north sixty-five degrees west seventeen chains to land belonging to Alexander McNabe, thence south seven degrees west in the western side of the said land seventy-two chains and fifty links thence east on ungranted land twenty-four chains and twenty-five links thence north sixty-five chains on ungranted land and the west boundary of said Thain's land to the place of beginning, containing one hundred and twenty-five acres of land, more or less.

To have and to hold the said lot of land and premises with all the building and improvements thereon or thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to him, the said Jacob Langill, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns to his and their only use, benefit and behoof forever, and the said Robert Allan with the consent of Isabella, his lawful spouse, who doth also by these presents resign and assign over all her right and title to Dower or other interest of, in and to the aforesaid lot of land and premises, doth hereby bind himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns against the lawful claim of all and every person and persons to warrant and defend the said Jacob Langill, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns in the peaceable and quiet possession of the above conveyed premises forever.

In witness whereof the said Robert Allan and Isabella, his spouse aforesaid, have hereunto severally their names and subscribed and seals affixed the day and year first above written.

Received on the day of the date of the foregoing Indenture from the herein named Jacob Langill the sum of fifty pounds being the consideration money therein mentioned to be paid by him to me.

Be it remembered that on the fourteenth day of December in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and thirty-nine personally appeared before me, one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the County of Pictou, Mrs. Isabella Allan, a party to the foregoing Deed and wife of Robert Allan also a party thereto who being by me examined separately and apart from her said husband acknowledged that the said Deed was executed by her for the purposes therein mentioned and that freely and voluntarily, without force or compulsion, on the part of her said husband.
